Brunch at the Grand

Jakes entire birthday weekend at The Grand America Hotel was a complete surprise to him!  One thing I knew Jake would be thrilled about was attending Sunday Brunch!  We are such foodies and plan all our trips around food, I knew brunch would be a great idea!

Sunday Brunch at The Grand America is one thing we try to go to at least once a year.  The food is fantastic and I just love being in the hotel!  I knew Jake would be so excited to feast on giant king crab legs, omelets and Æbleskivers.  Those are his favorites!  He loves how the crab legs are cut in half for you and the meat just pulls right out!

I love trying all the different juices at the juice bar, eating sushi and plates-full of bacon!  I am a serious bacon fan, and the bacon they cook at brunch is fantastic!  There is even a section that has food just for kids! I always like to stop by there and get some chicken fingers :)

I tried something new to me this time which was the white hot chocolate!  I have never had a white hot chocolate before and loved it!  I normally don't drink hot chocolate, but I was drinking it all weekend long at The Grand! They have so many tasty flavors!

If you have never had a chance to check out the brunch at The Grand, make sure to stop by sometime for lots of tasty food and treats :)  P.S I recommend making reservations in advance! It fills up pretty quick!

One place I wanted to make sure Jake and I stopped at while we were at The Grand America was their darling bakery La Bonne Vie.  I love walking in there with the crisp, white shelving and seeing all the fun dessert colors pop right out!  There are always so many yummy treats, baked goods and gelato I want to try!

This time we went with some beautiful colorful macaroons and a strawberry tart!  Confession....I have never been a macaroon fan but just like to buy them because they are cute and look good in pictures.  I know that's horrible right!?

Well guess what, I tried the macaroons at La Bonne Vie and ate them all and loved them!  Every flavor was fantastic that we tried!  I loved them so much that we actually went back and purchased some more to eat for later!  It was totally worth it :)  The coconut, chocolate and passion fruit were my favorite flavors of the day!  The tart was fantastic too!

One of my favorite things about the cute bakery is the amazing packaging! Each time we bought something, the items were wrapped in a lovely box, tied with a fun bow, and a cute card about the bakery!  I don't know about you, but I love eating something that comes in a cute package!

Jake and I had a blast exploring the shop and taking some fun pictures to help us remember the moment! If you are ever in Salt Lake and want to enjoy a sweet treat, I highly recommend stopping by and picking one up at La Bonne Vie!

For Jake's birthday we got to celebrate and stay at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City.  They were so kind to let us stay for the weekend, and they sure spoiled us!  We seriously felt like royalty in the hotel! 

Jake and I were talking about our time spent at The Grand after we got home and we still can't get over how much fun it was!  I am still dreaming of the gorgeous marble bathrooms, the super cozy bed, and the amazing chandeliers! I can't wait to go back again someday for another stay-cation :)  I am thinking we are going to have to make The Grand America a yearly birthday tradition. 

While Jake and I were at The Grand, we got to do so many fun things! Since we had such a blast, I decided this week on the blog will be a week all about the "GRAND" time we had at the hotel!  We had so much fun exploring the hotel and finding new places to take outfit photos!  I can't wait to share all the yummy food, Afternoon Tea, The Grand America Spa, and so much more with you! When Jake and I were in Florida, we got to go to one of my all time favorite places ever.... GATORLAND!  More to come later on all the amazing alligators!
