Memorial week!

Why play on memorial day....when you should make the holiday last allllll week long!?!

SATURDAY: saturday was a blast! Jake and I went to nordstroms and got matching white sperrys to complete our full matching onsomble for the day. Then we ran some errands to weekly walmart and got the movies "thumbalina and billy maddison." Then we headed off to park city to play for the day. We spent the day hanging out at the outlets eating ms fields cookies and then went and walked down main street. It was fun, and then we went and looked at all the cute old houses. I would love to live in park city. That's one little town I would be ok living in. After we went to one of my favorite pizza shops called "davanzas." I go there everytime after snowboarding. It brought back some great memories. Then we drove back home and went to the dollar theaters and saw "diaries of a whimmpie kid." It was cute, yet sad. The main boy was not always nice and that made me sad. But we got popcorn and it was so good! Ever since hairschool I have loved popcorn because there was a popcorn machine that we would make fresh yummy popcorn. Saturday was such an ideal day. It was so much fun! I also saw some old friends saturday, and that was great! I love seeing people that I have not seen in a bit.

SUNDAY: had meetings, went to church, and then ate dinner and scyped with jakes family! I love talking to them! They are so great. Then I had a good friend from idaho,Alisa in town so, jake and I got to go see her and we played the funnest game called "blokus." It was such a fun game. It is kinda like "tetris" on a board. It was so great to see Alisa. Her and I did a study abroad together in Central America. She always makes me so happy and it was so good to see her. Then Jake and I went to ward prayer back at my place because my roomate is in charge of ward prayer. She does a great job. Megan started doing themes for ward prayer and it has been a blast.
MONDAY: Jake came and picked me up and we went to breakfast at Maglebys Fresh with his roomates. Then we went to the duck pond and looked at the ducks. I kept seeing little things pop out of the water and I knew they must of been turtles. Before we knew it we counted over 15 turtles! They were so cute. They were the same kind of turtles as mine, but bigger! I wanted to hold one to know what my turtles weight, and size would soon someday become! Some were basking on the sides of the pond, so Jake caught one and we played with him. He was a friendly fellow, and I was suprised how light he was. I could hold him with one hand, and it didnt hurt my carple tunnel. So that means, he is light. Playing with this turtle acctually made me exicited for the turtles to grow and get big and strong. They are just so dang cute little, they will be hard to part with. But then I just need to remeber, like any mom, enjoy the children while they are young. Those years go by extremely fast, and cherish them. Then Jake and I visted his friend Taylor, and browed a tennis raquet from him, so that Jake and I could go play tennis with our friends Sandy and Alan. Oh, how I miss playing tennis. It was really fun playing, but yet, very dissapointing seeing that my skills had gone down the drain. Despite that, it was a fun adventure and we all had a great time! I would like to start playing tennis again. I miss it. Next, we went to Rock Canyon park to go on a hiking adventure. We realized we needed to start working out again. I have never been Rock Canyon Park, but it had lots of pretty scenery, lots of people out playing, and lots of options for diffrent kinds of hiking, biking, rockclimbing adventures. We hiked up to a cool cave, that was freezing and scary looking, and far back into the mountain scary. Cool! Then Jake and I went to pick up dinner. He got Macaroni grill and I got sushi and Happy Sumo. We then went and ate it at a park and had a picnic! I love picnics! It was 7 oclock by this time, and super warm outside still! Wahoo, summer is here!!!!! Oh, I love summers! I am so happy and excited its here now! But who knows...weather in Utah is quite spradic and it could snow anyday. Then we went back to Jakes place and watched the movie "Whip It." It was a fun movie, but completely diffrent than I expected. It was a fun time though. This weekend was a great time with Jake! I love being able to play lots with him.

TUESDAY: Well, back at the house the washer broke and its been quite the ordeal. I keep going to the store to buy new undies to try and keep up with the loss of no washer. So we have had repair man, after repair man, and now we are getting a new washer! Wahoo! Our landlord was coming over to talk to washer man, and our trash had now become collectables to our garage, Sandy, Megan and I decided it was time for it to go. We filled up boxes with trash, and rolled the two large over flowing trash cans down to a dumpster. It really was hilarious having a car full of trash, follwed by two girls in sweatpants and oversized tees, rolling large trash cans. Then, the ride back up the hill was fun because Sandy pulled Megan and I in the back of her car. Going over speed bumbs was scary, but well worth all the laughs. Then that night, Megan and I went to the magical D.I. to look for an old door. I saw the coolest door table made by Jakes friend Taylor and I have been dying to make one! Instead we found cool love seat, so I got it for my room! Then we went to Walgreens to buy feebreze and anything killer spray to put on the couch. For food we went to Wendys and enjoyed ourselves. I feel life could not be any better. Then, when Megan and I got home, Sandy happend to be home! She helped us move the chair into my room. At Walgreens Megan got some sweet gangster sweat pants size XXXXXXXL and I got a great picture of Sandy and Megan both in the sweat pants. Then our neighbor Jason came over and we all played on the mini tramp, bikes and talked. It was a great time. Then the mail came and my curtains came in the mail! wahooooo! finally not on backorder anymore! Jake then got done with studying, and came over for us to go running. A big fight had broken out infront of our complex, and many many cops were there. All of us were so interested we had to see what was going down. It seemed intense so Jake and I went on a walk. On our walk we were of course craving candies, so we went to the best place for candy, Macys. We got lots of good sours, gummies, and of course the best ever...Choclate Covered Cinnamon Bears. YUMMMM! Then Jake and I watched "Pincocio." That movie is actually pretty scary, but I forgot how cute it was. I love Disney. I didnt thing the Digitally Remasterd movies would make a diffrence, but they are pretty cool! They seem very 3 demetional.

WENSEDAY: Ran errands, did grocerys, and got some stuff and started packing to prepare for a Moab trip this weekend! There has been a Jesus picture I have been looking for, for some time now, and I went out on an adventure to look for it! Finally, it was found at the Distribution Center, and it was in a rad gold frame!!! I have one wall in my room and it is the only wall that does not have anything on it, and it quite a large.......large wall. So this picture was perfect!!!! I needed to ponder about the picture and check the bank...so I left to contiue on the days adventures. I didnt want to get fried this weekend, at Moab, so I decided to be dumb and go to the tanning beds. Instead I got freid at there. Oh so bad for you, and I was a retard. So all day I was fried and uncomfortable. haha This Sunday, Jake and I will have been dating for 7 months so I set out to find him a suprise. He really had wanted to get the movie "meet the robinsons" on lu ray, so I finally found one at Best Buy. Wahoo! Then I got to go back to the Distribution Center and buy the picture of Jesus. I got the one of Jesus in Western Americas. He is in a white robe, on the stairs, with fallen pyramids in the backround, arms open, and people coming to him on the steps, and the darkness disapearing. Ever since an experience I had at the Guatamala temple, and seeing this picture in the temple, this picture has always ment so much to me, and I have really wanted to get it since then! Thankgoodness for a large empty wall as an excuse to get it! :) Then I met up with Jake at home depot to get some gloves for our canyoneering adventure we were going to have in moab. After finding some we went to a place called Hansons Canyonering to pick up a new belay device and try out some repeling. I was suprised how scared I was to go down the repels. It was really fun though. They had one that would of been sorta like a cliff jump, hang that was fun. Then Jake and I went to A&W's to get a drink. Jake got a rootbeer and I got an orange float. It was a fun time. Then Jake went off to a study group and I went and ran a few more errands, and then came home to watch the lame show.."bacholorette." I am not much of a tv watcher but for some reason, this trashy show it sometimes kind of fun to watch. You know how when you lay out in the sun all day, you are tired and feel sick like sun poisioning got into your skin? That is how I felt. Tanning beds never again, Ill take the getting fried in the real sun. After Jake got done with studying, we rode bikes for a bit and then he tucked me in bed and went home. I love life!

THURSDAY: You know those days you want to go to the temple and Santan tries to do everything to not get you there? I felt like it was one of those days. Woke up, did some eyelashes, made a yummy tuna melt, got dressed in church clothes so I would be ready to go to the temple, ran some errands and made some returns, more washing machine adventures.......and finally got to the temple, and made it in time to get my car to the car shop..but then they didnt have the part I needed.....but its ok, got the part and now get to take my car in next week. I am amazed sometimes how car maitence and car things are just expensive...I guess some people got to make a living right? Then Jake and I went to another rock gym to go do some diffrent repels. The boy that helped us was so kind, and he let us try a bunch of diffrent kind of repel devices. Who knew..there could be so many options. It made me sooo excited for the upcoming weekend, and being able to try some real repeling in the wilderness! Jake and I then went to pick up some dinner and got some Stans and Taco Bell. Then we got Jake packed for Moab, and the car ready to go, and then came and got me all packed up to go! Lastly, we ran to Walmart for some last minute items to get. I got a sweet outdoors chair to sit in, a head lamp, the movie "The Incredibles" on sale, and the game "blokus" so we could play it with my roomates on Sunday! It was a succesful trip to Walmart. Jake and I are now pumped and ready to head off to Moab!!

FRIDAY: Wahoo! Moab today! Woke up, did some eyelashes, ran some last minute errands, Jake came home from work, picked me up, and we went to Rubios, for a free fish taco for free fishing day in Utah. That was awesome! Then we got gas, and headeded off for Moab! Yes, life is soooooooooooooooooo great! Moab here we come!

MOAB

Friday, June 4, 2010

Jake and I got the great opportunity to go to Moab and do some real wilderness repealing with some of his co-workers! It was a blast! Jake is so lucky to be able to work with some really wonderful, giving, kind people! I had a blast being able to meet some of the people he spends his days with. The drive up to Moab was pretty! It was fun to sing songs and spend time with Jake. When we first arrived in Moab we met at the bottom of the National Park, to have a training and awareness video from guide. This is when I got to meet our awesome group, and we learned all about "the fiery furnace!!!!!" dun dun dun!!!! Where we would be hiking and repealing in the next day! After the instruction on not to step on "the crust"( crypto biotic crust) we went to "zaks" for an all you can eat pizza buffet. I guess we thought we were doing a triathlon the next day and needed to stalk up on carbs. The pizza was great! They even had buffalo chicken pizza! Yumm!
After dinner, the group was pooped from a long day of adventures they had had, so Jake and I went back into the National Park to go hike Arches! Here a few pictures of some of the different landscapes in the park and how beautiful it is! I think Heavenly Father did a great job!

After an adventurous hike! We made it to arches! Cool! This is my second time being here! I would love to come again.
Jake and I are to the right of this picture standing under the arch. The arch is pretty big.A happy couple to be in Moab.
Oh look! Starlite the unicorn came to join!!! I packed her as a surprise in my backpack! I was glad she decided to come and play on this hike. After the hike we went to the campsite and I was lucky and got to sleep in the back of Jake's truck on a mattress. I don't think everyone else got that good of a nights rest. I love a night under the stars.
6am! Bright and early, ready to hike! And as the hike was coming to an end in the middle of the day we were so happy to start early and to of beat most of the heat. We are at the "fiery furnace." You are only allowed to go in her with special passes, a guide or an experienced fiery furnace person. Luckily a man at Jake's work was! Russ was our guide and boy did he know his stuff. To me, the entire place was a maze and he had the hidden routes down to many secret arches, and beautiful spots down to a T! Way to go Russ! He has definitely done a lot of young men trips in his day! Russ was like a gazelle.
Remember Brett from the Color festival? He works with Jake! Here is Brett and Jake ready for an adventure! Waters are full, snacks and lunches are packed! And don't forget..a last minute bathroom trip!
Let the hike begin!

Many boulders to climb! How cool is this????! So neat!

You really have to know what your doing to guide your way threw this! I felt so lucky to be able to go on this trip! I really got to go on an experience many people dream of, and not many get to do :(
This was called "surprise arch." Because you are walking in crevices, and all of a sudden....Surprise! a large arch is above your head! I guess a couple years back, some of the arch fell off. In hundreds of years, this arch and others will no longer be because of wither over time.
We went threw many crevices and small places. Some I thought I would not fit in,but somehow, we all got through.
Look how beautiful this place is! Jake I started to think this fiery furnace was looking a bit familiar! (thunder mountain ride at disneyland?)

Sadly this is the only shoot of the group we have. My one regret of the trip is we forgot to take a group picture! Inside these crevices it was cold! It trapped nice cool air.
Wow were high, and venturing to go higher!
Well, I guess I lied, this is a group picture of all of us..but we needed one with everyone's faces that you could see.
This is a great time! Jake and I had a blast! We are getting quite excited to repel! We went to 2 rock gyms and practiced repelling so we would hopefully not be so afraid repelling off 160 feet high mountain.
At the top of this rock you wonder how the heck you are going to get down this rock. You go under it threw a little opening one at a time. Intense. After this we slid down on our rears. That part was the hardest of the whole trek. Kinda scary..and I liked it.
Real ancient gorilla finger wholes!
Getting ready to repel! I am so impressed how Russ knows how to do this all. Setting up a repel in nature is really intense. The guide is the last one down, and some how they have to get all the stuff, like the ropes and repelling materials down from the top to the bottom.
Jake went down before me so I didn't get to get any pictures of him,but luckily our group was awesome and took pictures of everyone! What a great captured picture of Jake's static hair!
Now its my turn! Sadly, you couldn't get the whole length of the distance from top to bottom, but we got to do our first repel at 160 feet high. It was so much fun! Oh, I hope someday I will get to go again! To be honest, I think doing the 30 feet repels at the rock gym was scarier than this. I think that is because it was my first time? In nature it was so beautiful, my nerves were not acting up.
Some one waits at the bottom for you, holding the rope in case you start going to fast. They can pull the rope and stop you. Thanks sir!
Down at the bottom it was so quiet and still. Look at the pretty wind waves in the sand.
I didnt realize how high up we were because we got to do 2 repels! The first at 160 feet and then another repel from their at 50 feet! Thats over 200 feet high! COOL! Heres Jake coming down the second repel.
Doesn't something like that look pretty, and not climbable? False, you can hike up it. Watch out for the poison ivy in front!
Our amazing guide Russ, working his magic and showing us all how it is done.
Last leg of the hike. The sun was starting to shine hard and we were all glad we were going to be able to get out of the heat soon.
Skull arch. ( I just made that name up,because I think I remember that being what its called....or maybe that was on the movie Goonies?)
Last arch of the trip! And we get to stand on it!
Now do you see what I mean? This is 100 percent Thunder Mountain right here.
After our hike I told Jake I would do anything to find a Mexican Taco stand on the side of the street. After going threw the whole town we didn't find anything. Then we stopped at the gas station and right behind happened to be a Navajo taco stand! Life truly couldn't be any better after that! A great magical hike, repelling, new friends, and Navajo tacos! Life is so wonderful!
OK, life still got better! Some of the group told Jake and I about this magical water whole, so on our way home we stopped there! This Jake trying to decided whether or not to climb up the water fall to jump in the water. So we decided to go together and go explore the water whole! It was fun.

We even found ancient hieroglyphics! Are they real? I don't know, but they actually seemed pretty legit to us.
This was the entrance out of the water whole. Pretty. After the water whole we headed back home. We got to stop at a neat dinosaur rock and fossil store. This trip was a fantastic time! Thanks team for a supurb trip!

april MAYISH

Thursday, May 27, 2010

aprilmayish have been great months. They are combined together like a blob, because thats what I feel these last two months have been. Don't get me wrong, a great blob, full of lots of events. Here is a few things that have happened in the last little bit:

*went to maryland to play with Jakes family
*finished regular school semester, full of great final projects
*packed up old apartment and cleaned lots
*moved into a new apartment
*did 70 hour weeks to finish hairschool as fast as I could
*studied lots to pass some hairschool tests and got a 90%! wahoo a miracle
*activities committee, ward parties
*partied at disneyland!

This has defiantly been a great time, but happy to have hairschool done. That was a great time in my life, but very very very happy to have it done. I never realized what a commitment of time things like that are. Good experience.
Went to the grocery store. Seeing this cereal makes me happy, and also eat an entire box in one day. My sister cami introduced me to this goodness.
A new reese's bar is in town. It was good, but to rich of peanut butter. I would of thought there would be any reeses to strong for my liking, but I guess this one was. :(

Jake and I went with his friends to go play laser tag. it was a blast! i think i enjoyed it to much! We played against another team, to our suprise our team won! and i came in 2nd place over all! i guess being a tomboy and always playing paintball paid off!
oh yummy, honeycomb! or.....a wasps nest inside my car....

When i was moving I found this old weekly schdule, and it made me think I have the greatest life ever! I love life! What fun adventures, great people, religion and activities!
Gurus, yumminess! best sweet potato fries around.
Found this old good fortune in a drawer along with some hair and gum......
Pretty flowers out side

This pretty flower is a picture sent from my dad! I was so proud! He does not text or send picture messages, so I was so proud of him! This picture will never be erased from my phone.
Jakes niece turned one years old!
We got to go out to her house and eat cup cakes with her family!
Claire is loving birthdays so far! She loves her baby doll and stoller!
I drew on Jakes hand to try and make class time fly by faster to finish up classes for the semester.
Jake decided to start studying for the MCAT. I got him a "school rocks" teddy bear to help him study. He sent this picture to me one day while he was studying. Cute boy.
Provo city strikes again, for the most crazy things. Parking on your own driveway gives you a parking ticket? Thats like the time I got towed out my own parking spot for a mer 140 bucks.
Jake has been wanting Arby's curly fries for quite some time now. We finally went and got him some, and got some jalepeno poppers as well! oh so yummy! As you can tell, Jake is very happy eating his fries in this picture.

When Jake and I went to visit his family, we got to look threw all of Jakes photo albums from growing up. This one of my favorite pictures. I loved it so much, his mom gave me a copy. I know keep it in my wallet. He said his hairstyle was called the "side spike." I could not stop laughing at this. Soooo good. I should of tried to bring the side spike back and cutting boys hair at hairschool this way, even if thats not what they wanted.
Packing a lunch and dinner every day got tiring, so I got some lunchables! This brought back some great memories of when I got to eat lunchables when I went on school field trips!
I went to "betos" to get a large greesy burrito. I was so excited to eat it! yum!
I was so excited to eat it, until I bit into it and saw that the burrito and realized they gave me the wrong burrito. I had ordered a stake carne asada burrito, and instead got a bacon breakfast burrito. :( its on though because Jake finished it for me and loved it! Good thing, boys can be great food disposals.

At hairschool we had an ice cream party! Yummy! I love ice cream!
My knee has been healing quite well. Remember when I had a little spill in the alleyway in Maryland? This is what it was from. Sadly everyday for a bit the scab would leak pus and get stuck on my pants or leggings and then rip off part of the scab again. It felt really good. I was surprised that after a full month that there was still a thick scab. Good thing I love picking scabs!
Moving into a new apartment created lots of fun trips to the D.I. , Walmart, and Target. I saw these cool pans at Walmart and loved them. I thought they were so cute, and that would be fun to cook in cute colored pans!
I had candy sucker lips and a grill. I know wearing them makes us look like a very attractive couple.... I think I was wearing the lips upside down?
My new room was huge, but didn't have a closet. Jake was awesome and helped me build a shelf, and my roommate Emily gave me some clothes racks, and we created a closet! It turned out awesome! I need to take a picture of it and put it up here. And yes this large pile of clothes is silly. Don't worry, I literally gave 6 large black trash bags to the needy. That felt nice.
Jake made me dinner! He is a great cook! I have never had a boy make me dinner before, and he does all the time! Its great.
I was excited that I got to have a shower curtain in my bathroom! I saw a shower curtain like this at Anthropolgie, but I didn't have 118 to spend on a shower curtain, so I tried to make it. The curtain did take longer than I expected, but it was quite fun to make. It was a slow project working on it, an hour a day, but finally it got done and I was able to shower again.

My roommate Emily was so sweet. She bought me the cute diamond shower hooks for this curtain. She wrote me the nicest note and said she thought I had been working so hard on the shower curtain and thought that these diamond shower curtain rings would look cute on it. She was sooooo right! It made the shower curtain look great! Shes the best! I love such kind, thoughtful, genuine people.
Carpal tunnel strikes again
When Jake and I went to California, I got this cool monkey, and named him tuna. Jakes mom bought me the cool Kermit,(who I sleep with every night) and the elephant is Jakes, and his name is banana. Jake comes over and tucks me in bed every-night, and he brought banana, and tucked in tuna and kermit next to me so I would sleep good.

Jake and I have been into a chocolate covered strawberry, pretty much chocolate covered fruits and oreo cravings alot lately.
Jake is a professional at dipping strawberries!
YUUUUUUMMMMMMMY

I saw this at the partyland store while I was picking up supplies for our ward summer opening social. I think when I was a child I didnt even know what an armadillo was. Pretty neat though.

Remember when it was scheduled that we were going to have an opening social up provo canyon, and I woke and it was a blizzard out. This was just the beginning. But it was ok, we moved the activity to wed, and it was all able to work out great. We had Costa Vida cater and they were so good and were not even mad when we called and changed our order to wed. Go costa.
Great movies at Best Buy! They were on sale for $7.00! Sometimes Best Buy has great deals for movies and blue rays. Sometimes they are the worse prices than most places, but you can find some great deals here!
Yummy costco pizza!
I finally made dinner. Stir fry from a bag. But it was super yummy!
Sensuous Sandwich is my Neds Crazy sub substitute. I tried the italian sub today, warm with cream cheese and it was the best sandwich I have ever had.
Remember at the ward party when I got there, and didn't knew Costa Vida catering does not come in containers, it comes in plastic bags. Good thing for great roommates that take care of you and save your but!

Black and white chocolate chip with carmel apple from Rocky Road Mtn. Factory! yummmmmm
