When Jake and I were wandering around The Grand America Hotel, we saw the sign for Afternoon Tea in the Lobby Lounge. We both looked at each other, and said, "Let's go!"  We went and made reservations and got dressed for the occasion! Jake was so excited because he recently got some super-cool custom BANG cufflinks and had been wanting a special occasion to wear them to! Tea time was the perfect place to wear them!  Jake and I loved taking pictures in the courtyard since it was so beautiful out!  I love overcast days! Pictures from our fun time at Afternoon Tea are coming up tomorrow!

Cheers to the grand life

How awesome are these cozy robes?!  Jake and I were out taking photos around The Grand America Hotel and in the evening, when we came back to our room, our bed was nicely turned down and there were robes and slippers on the bed with a yummy piece of chocolate!  There was even peaceful music playing on the radio.  It was a nice atmosphere to come home to.

Jake and I were so excited, we put our robes on right away and of course took some pictures!  We like to take pictures too much :)  We checked out the room service menu and ordered some dinner!  The food all sounded so tasty, I wanted to order it all! We ended up going with a steak quesadilla and some french fries to share!  When the food came up to our room, it came on a super cool rolling table!  Jake and pulled up some chairs and enjoyed the dinner while we watched the Disney Channel.

After we headed down to the spa and enjoyed the steam rooms!  It was a perfect evening!

Recently I have seen billboards around town announcing The Grand America had remodeled their spa and it was now open!  I have been really wanting to try it out and see what it had to offer, and also take some time to relax and hang out.  While at Jake's and my stay at The Grand America, we got to spend some time at the new spa.  I was so glad we did, because it was a highlight of the trip!  I feel like I am constantly running around every day and never take the time to sit, so it was so nice to feel pampered and take a breather.

In the spa there is a beautiful pool and Jacuzzi, with some fun lounge chairs to hang out in.  Not to mention fantastic green chandeliers that really help set the mood for a tranquil time.  The indoor pool is up on the fourth floor and has an amazing view of the courtyard.  We went to the pool around 5:30 pm so we got see the transition of day to night in the courtyard and it was lovely!  I loved seeing the fountain lights turn on and light the water in the evening.

With being on a tight schedule while we were at The Grand, we didn't get the chance to try out any of the spa services, but we want to next time for sure!   I really want to try out the couples massage.  It sounds AMAZING!  I think Jake would like to hit up the Barbering Services.  He has always thought it would be neat to have someone shave his beard like the old fashion way with a straight edge razor.

We did get to spend a little time in the the separate mens and women's areas where they had relaxing steam rooms, personal showers and everything you could need to get ready for the day!  Jake was feeling a little congested earlier in the morning we went to the spa, so he was loving sitting in the steam room.

If you ever get a chance to check out The Grand America Spa, I highly recommend it!  It's a fun spot to hang out, relax and get some "you" time.

Jakes entire birthday weekend at The Grand America Hotel was a complete surprise to him!  One thing I knew Jake would be thrilled about was attending Sunday Brunch!  We are such foodies and plan all our trips around food, I knew brunch would be a great idea!

Sunday Brunch at The Grand America is one thing we try to go to at least once a year.  The food is fantastic and I just love being in the hotel!  I knew Jake would be so excited to feast on giant king crab legs, omelets and Æbleskivers.  Those are his favorites!  He loves how the crab legs are cut in half for you and the meat just pulls right out!

I love trying all the different juices at the juice bar, eating sushi and plates-full of bacon!  I am a serious bacon fan, and the bacon they cook at brunch is fantastic!  There is even a section that has food just for kids! I always like to stop by there and get some chicken fingers :)

I tried something new to me this time which was the white hot chocolate!  I have never had a white hot chocolate before and loved it!  I normally don't drink hot chocolate, but I was drinking it all weekend long at The Grand! They have so many tasty flavors!

If you have never had a chance to check out the brunch at The Grand, make sure to stop by sometime for lots of tasty food and treats :)  P.S I recommend making reservations in advance! It fills up pretty quick!
