Isn't this the cutest little town ever!? Steveston, British Columbia aka Storybrooke is such a charming place!  Pictures does not do it justice, but it is such a fun place to visit!  It is where a lot of the filming for the disney/abc show Once Upon A Time takes place!

It is about 30 mins outside Vancouver and is a pretty drive to get there.  The town has a cool fish canning factory with tours, whale watching and is super cute to walk around!  There were lots of neat food places to try that all looked so delicious!  We hope to go back sometime and stay at a bed and breakfast in town!

TIPS TO HAVE A FUN TIME IN STORYBROOKE:
Stop by the town post office/visitors center and pick up a map. They have maps that tell you all the sites from the show Once Upon A Time.

Eat some fish and chips! There are tons of places that have them around here and I don't know which ones are better but we went to Dave's and got the Halibut and it was super tasty!

Hang out by the dock. There is tons of wildlife there! We saw 8 seals playing around, a swan and lots of cool birds!

Get there before 10am! If you get here before 10 the entire place will be to yourself! Then you can walk around, get pictures before anyone gets there! Then when all the shops open up, go on your walking map tour, and check out all the cute little shops!

Stop for mini donuts at Outpost Mini Donut! Get a basket of 12, they are little and super tasty! Each day they have lots of tasty different flavors! Our fav was the maple.  Also the homemade marshmallows for the hot cocoa are fantastic!

If you have time, go whale watching!  There are lots of whale watching tour options here.

Side note: There are a ton of cool walls like a giant one with whales, huge Canada flag, lots of brick and fun colored walls that are perfect for photo backdrops.

Frontgate Rosby EZ Care Rug Review

Have you heard of Frontgate before?  I was on the look out for a new rug, and my mom told me her favorite place to find rugs was a store called Frontgate.  I am so glad my mom mentioned it because they have 20-50% off rugs right now!  I mean.. talk about perfect timing!  The rug event is going on 'till the first week of March!

Sometimes ordering large home items online can be intimidating, but with Frontgate there is no need to feel that way with a "try any rug risk-free for 30 days" guarantee.   I also liked that the rug we got, really looks like the pictures they have online.

There were several rugs we were deciding between on the website and we ended up picking the Rosby EZ Care Rug.  This rug also comes in a gorgeous navy!  We went with the lighter one, so there would be a contrast with our dark floors.  We have been so happy with how it looks in the space!  The rug has a nice thickness, and it has been super easy to vacuum up dinner crumbs.

The new Rosby Rug really transformed our space in a great way.  Our house has kind of a Parisian vibe, and we love that we were able to find a rug with a vintage feel to fit the space.

Make sure to check out the @Frontgate Instagram, today!   They are giving away a Rosby EZ Care Rug to one lucky winner! It's the exact same rug we have in these pictures!  Go enter, trust me.... you need this rug in your life!  Entering the giveaway is super easy!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have an awesome weekend!

*We were gifted this rug from Frontgate, but this blog post and all opinions are our own.  It is not sponsored and we had no obligations to create this post.  We were so excited about our new rug, we wanted to share it with you all since we genuinely love the product!

One of our favorite things we got to do in Vancouver was visit Grouse Mountain.  We originally were planning on spending the day here and when it ended up that we were going to there in the evening, we were both hesitant because we didn't know if there would be anything to do up on the resort in the evenings.

Boy were we wrong....! There was sledding, ice skating, a fire pit, light walk, a cool lodge, movie theater, sleigh ride, snow snowing, snowboarding and so much more!  We had three hours and tried to fit as much as we could in that time!  We hope to go back someday and spend the day snowboarding and end it was some cozy time in the lodge and some ice skating!

The sky-ride tickets up to the resort were pretty expensive, which made us hesitant to go up with only a short amount of time, but it was so worth it!  If you have a few hours, its worth it!  The sky ride takes you up to the base which is super high...like you are above the clouds high!  Then on the base you can take ski lifts or hang out and do everything else that is around the lodge.

Here is our vlog from our time there! My favorite part is Jake screaming like a girl going down the sled! hehe (where is the cry laugh emoji when I need it?!)  Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a good one!

How cool are these logs?!  When we stayed in Kelowna, we kept seeing lots of places like this with tons of floating logs in nice stacks!  They were such a neat site to see, that we had to pull over and check them out!

Looking back on this trip, it was one Jake and I really loved!  It really fit what we both love to do, and we love winter weather!  I tried to think about this trip, what made it successful in our minds and share a little bit of that with you all!

When planning a trip, it can be a little overwhelming.  Ill be honest, we hardly ever plan for trips.  We just make sure that we have plane flights, a rental car and hotels taken care of in advance.  We do like to have a few ideas for what we are wanting to do in an area, and maybe a few food joints we want to hit up but thats about it!  You do want to have some plans though because you don't want to let a day of your trip go by wasted!

Here are a few tips for traveling to have a good time:

-Wake up everyday with a smile and choose for it to be a great day!

-Communicate.  Each new day at breakfast time we each ask each other, "What is the top thing you are wanting to do today?!"  Then Jake and I each try to make sure each others top number one thing gets done that day, and anything extra is a bonus.

-Don't have a time frame for activities.  Try to enjoy everything and live in the moment! Go with the flow!

-Enjoy down time.  Take time to go on a walk, explore, sit by a fountain and eat a treat,  play at a park, snuggle in your hotel room, etc.  Sometimes when we get home from vacations we have been on the go so much that we are exhausted.  We have found, one of the best ways for us to avoid that is to sit and enjoy a tasty down meal instead of eating on the go.  That way we feel energized and ready for the next activity.

-Let the expectations go.  There have been so many times I have had all these expectations of how I wanted the day to go, and it didn't happen.  And there is nothing wrong with that, its just creating the ability to enjoy the day and what comes with it.  The times I dwelt on not getting everything in we had planned, or being frustrated at the traffic ended up being wasted time on my end when I could of been focusing on enjoying extra time in the car with Jake, etc.

-Get ride of the phones and focus on who you are with.  We still love to SnapChat, and social media when we are on the go, but we make sure to drop the phones and just enjoy time together without electronics.

-Before you leave on your trip, plan a couple of ideas of places you want to visit.

-Ask locals while you are there some of their favorite things to do in the area.

-Be open to trying new things.  Whether it be a new food joint, pulling the car over to go explore, walking around an unfamiliar place, etc.

-Have your favorite travel apps downloaded and ready to go in advance so you can use them on your trip.  We love using Expedia and Yelp.  When we go to Europe, I download the Flush app that shows you were all the public restrooms are!

Whats some things that you do to make sure you have a successful trip?

Othello Tunnels is by far one of the coolest places in the world!  Maybe it had to do with the time of year but the misty cold atmosphere and lack of crowds made this stop such a special treat!  We had been driving in rain for a couple hours and wanted to break up the drive by stopping here for fun adventures!

We were so glad we had our waterproof Cole Haan boots on!  With all the rain and puddles, our feet stayed warm and dry while all the time being as light as a feather (the ZerøGrand shoe line are engineered with a special design that keeps them lightweight, but sturdy, supportive and super comfortable).  I saw on the Cole Haan website they are having 40% off a few ZeroGrand styles including the boots I am wearing!  Get a pair too and we can all be twinners :)

The river roared below us and winded through around the rocky outcroppings.  The Othello Tunnels used to hold a train track that carried trains through the tunnels and over the bridges that span the Coquihalla River.  Misty clouds were rolling in and soaked the trees and our faces.  We loved seeing the bright green moss that was growing on all the trees.  Winter time here sure is rainy!  Or maybe just because of El Nino.  :-)

The town of Hope was adorable, and we ate at a fun local diner.  We wanted to stay longer and explore some more but we had other things to do that night. So we will just have to make sure we come back!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a lovely week!
