Anyone else ready for snow?!?! We love winter and are so excited for it to roll in in the next few months!  This was our first time up to Snowbird to wander around and look and we loved it!  It was super beautiful and full of lots of pretty greenery!

I got this Donna Morgan Dress earlier this summer but just got around to wearing it!  When I put it on and wore it around, I was bummed this was my first time busting it out! Do you ever do that?! Have something hanging in your closet that is on your mind, and then when you finally get around to wearing it... you are like.. "Where has this dress been my entire life?!"

We got to explore the grounds, had a little makeshift picnic and play at the park! It made for a great day :) Thanks for stopping by today! If you want to see more from this adventure, here is a link to the vlog :)

Jake and I took these pictures on a recent trip to Arizona!  We couldn't get enough of all the cacti around and desert scenery we ended up buying a few cacti to bring home with us!

I got this dress and shoes while I was in Mexico on a girls cruise with my some of my sisters, my mom, and cousins!  I did a study abroad in Mexico and it brought back some wonderful feelings of the great people, awesome food, and fun adventures back in the day there!

Heres a link to a little video from our adventure this day!  I went through a ton of stuff from high school and college and it was fun to relive the memories with Jake!

Easy Salmon and Sides Recipe

Hi Everyone! Jake here!  I am the main cook in our house so I'm always looking for easy and healthy dishes to create for our meals.   We often walk the grocery store isles looking for good side dishes that are filling and have nutritional value.  When I heard about Minute® Ready to Serve rice, I knew we needed to go find it asap and try it out!

After trying the rice out a few times in the fun diffrent flavors, there were a few things we really liked about the product.
1) It is Convenient and quick - Minute® Ready to Serve Rice:  It's precooked and comes in a cup so all you have to do is pull back the lid, heat the cup in the microwave for 60 seconds and you're done! We are all about the no clean up too, and just throwing the cup away in the trash after making the rice was perfect!
2) Portable and offers portion control.  We love having something portioned out and knowing exactly how many calories we're eating!  It's also great to pack in a to-go lunch or to heat up, add some grilled chicken on top and take it with me as I run out the door! I try to eat grains at lunch time and in the morning so I can have fuel to energize my body throughout the day.
3) Versatile - There are so many fun options you can cook up with the Minute® Ready to Serve Rice.  Between all the flavors you can come up with some super fun concoctions!  I am going to show in today's blog post how we added the rice as a side dish with some protein and veggies.  We have also found other ways we like to enjoy the rice cups by adding seasoning on top, a sauce, adding a veggie with cheese on top, etc. for a great quick meal!  With having busy, on-the-go schedules, it's important to have a go-to food around that you can rely on!

Today I am going to share with you my all time favorite way to make Lemon Salmon and our favorite sides to go with it!  It's a very easy recipe, one of our most frequent dinners and one we would call Minute® Ready!

Are there any go-to side dishes you love?! We would love to hear it because we're always looking for tasty food to add to our meals!  Thank you for stopping by today! Hope you have a wonderful week!

Did any of you get a chance to watch the Olympics??! We had big time plans to watch them and ended up not watching any of them yet!! We are going to start tonight binge watching some of our favorite events!

Growing up, my mom was a huge fan of Ice Skating and Gymnastics, so any season, any time the olympics were on, we watched it in the background all day!  As we have had the opportunity to travel these past few years, our love has grown for not only America but for the other countries we have been able to visit, so we need to get watching and cheer everyone on :)

One thing I have loved about the Olympics is its a time for everyone to put their differences aside and learn from each other.  There is something so wonderful about people working hard on their dreams and sharing the achievement with us all, is super magical to watch!

I recently got these cute pink flats from Rothy's.  I wore them out on a date night with Jake when we took these photos and I was so surprised at how comfy they were!  I actually took a lap around the track because my feet felt so good in them!  The shoes come in lots of fun colors and even a ballet flat style to if thats more your jam.  I always like a good pizza toe though ;)

Thank you for stopping by today! Hope you have an amazing weekend!

Lantern Fest SLC 2016

On Saturday we got to attend Lantern Fest in Salt Lake City.  We had such a fun time going to the event, we wanted to share our experience with you all on our blog!

Lantern Fest had a fun festival atmosphere where you could bring food, blankets, camping chairs and all hang out around a fire!  Jake and I went by ourselves but we were able to meet so many fun new friends around the camp fire.  There were 510 fire pit spots set up so there was lots of room to spread out, walk around and have some fun!  At the event was live music, photo booths, food trucks and lots of fun things for kids/adults to do and see.  This event was perfect for large groups or just on your own as well.

With the tickets came a lantern and a cute little smore's box.  Inside was a lighter, marker, instructions for lanterns and smore's supplies of course! (enough for 4 smore's per person)!  Before it got dark out, we were able to color on our lanterns and make them our own.  That made it even more fun for when we saw them go up in the sky!

When it got dark, they showed everyone how to light the lanterns, and then off the lanterns went!  Jake and I were both not skilled in the lantern lighting department! haha I didn't wait for my lantern to get enough air in it and my lantern ran into a ton of camping chairs!  I chased after it though and tried again and it went up in the sky!  It was worth the wait ;)

We made a video from our adventures!  Come join us for a true "Tangled" moment and let us know what you think!

If you want to have a magical moment yourselves, Lantern Fest was super awesome and gave us a discount code to share with you all if you want to go to a city near you to light off your own lantern!  Just use code "BANG20" at check out for 20% off your entire order!

A Fun Bathroom Idea

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MegaPrepped #CollectiveBias #Ad

Awhile ago I was trying to find the perfect solution for where to put the toilet paper in the guest bathroom that didn't have a storage spot for them.  Also, isn't it the worst when you run out of toilet paper and don't have any nearby?!  I was shopping around and found these cute little baskets.  Then I realized they would be perfect to display toilet paper in!  I thought it could be super cute to have a larger basket if you had the room for it in the bathroom and have a cute stack of toilet paper.

Tips to step up your guest bathroom toilet paper game:
1. Shop around to find the perfect basket size to go on the back of a toilet or to fit on the floor next to it.
2. Buy some Quilted Northern® Ultra Soft & Strong® with Cleanstretch mega pack from Walmart to fill up the basket.   Mega is a 4X bigger roll (*than our regular rolls) so you're not worried about refilling the roll!  I love knowing there are bigger toilet paper rolls in the the guest bathrooms so I don't have to remember to fill the baskets up often.  This way you're always stocked up and ready for sudden guests or last minute get-togethers.
3. Display your cute basket and enjoy!

Is there anything you've done to spice up your bathroom for guests?! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a fun day :)

Cozy Movie Night At Home

Monday, August 22, 2016

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and GREATER Productions. but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #GREATERMovie #GreaterTheMovie  http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Hope you all had a great weekend!  We got to spend our Friday evening watching a new movie we had learned about called GREATER.  It doesn't come out to select theaters till 8/26/16 but we got to watch an early screening online.  Make sure to check if the movie is coming to a city near you! GREATER (you can see the movie trailer here) is an inspirational true story about a boy who grows up with a dream to play football, and the steps he takes to reach his goals.

During the movie, Brandon the main character, goes through hard times but he found by relying on his hard work and what he believes in, he can do anything!  As a boy, he loved a college football team the Razorbacks, so he spent his childhood working hard on being the best football player he could be in hopes to someday be on that team.  Brandon woke up early, worked out, and spent everything he had to make his college football dreams come true.   With having lots of things against him on his journey to play for the team he wanted, he was able to break down those walls and not let them effect what he did.

Watching his journey was very heart wrenching because we never do well with movies where people get picked on or made fun of.  But seeing Brandon stay strong in his morals and beliefs and not caring what others say about him was truly inspiring.

In the movie, Brandon's mom was his biggest supporter.  She always cheered him on when all the odds were against her son.  She never stopped believing in him and did everything she could to help him get to where he wished and dreamed to be.  I have always felt fortunate in my life to have a mother like this as well.  If you can find someone that is willing to support you in all that you do, they sure are a great friend to keep around :)

We found that in our lives when we work hard and focus on the positive, just like Brandon and his family did, we can find greater meaning and satisfaction with all the curve-balls life throws our way.  Everyday we have the opportunity to choose to be happy, choose to be positive, and choose to have a great day, no matter what comes our way.

We hope you have a wonderful week and find ways to tackle any roadblocks that come up in your life journey!

A little bit ago we got to explore a cute little town that was new to us called Kamus.  It had lots of little food places that looked fun to stop at, but we ended up going to a new place that we read about on Yelp called State Road Tavern.  We were so glad we ended up going there because the ambience was perfection and the food was super tasty!  We got 1 appetizer, 2 meals, and 2 desserts, and had plenty of tasty left overs!  We are dying to go back sometime and try more because it all looked so delicious! We took these pictures from last year visiting West Yellowstone!  I never got around to posting these pictures and thought it was time!  Its crazy how diffrent our experience was from staying in West Yellowstone to this recent time staying down by Jackson Hole!

Looking back at these pictures makes me want to go there again!  I feel like in the short amount of time we were there we got to do a lot of fun things, but the area was so big we didn't even get to make a dent in all there is to do there!

TIPS FOR VISITING YELLOWSTONE:
-Bring a warm coat! You never know when the weather will turn chilly, so bundle up!
-Drive around!  If you fly in, get a rental car.  Everywhere you drive is so stunning and adventuring on the open road is the best!
-Pack Snacks! Go to the grocery store in town, or bring snacks from home to enjoy on the road or while exploring the park!  There are several places to eat within the park, but its better to have treats with you incase you are not close to a restaurant, you can stay and explore!
-Plan on staying for at least a few days!  There are millions of things to see and do in the parks, don't cut your time short if you don't have to!
-Book your stay in advance.  There are hotels in the parks that I have heard are super fun to stay at but they have to be booked months in advance to get a spot!  It can be worth the wait though because staying right where the great views are at, and the location can not be beat!
-Check out the guided tours options before you go! There is fishing, hiking tours, horseback riding, etc. that could be a fun highlight to the trip.
-Take the long route.  When we drove to Yellowstone we drove an extra 6 hours to take the scenic route.  It was worth it!  We saw moose, long horned sheep, ate at a fun breakfast joint, and found a cute handmade candy shop!  The scenery all around the park is just absolutely gorgeous!
-Get out of the car!  Don't be afraid to park and explore! (Unless there are Bison around or bear warnings! Stay in the car :) There are so many places that need to be explored for the perfect picture spot or a cute animal siting!
-Bring a zoom lens for your camera!  There is lots of wildlife and stunning scenery that might not be close enough to you so with your zoom lens you might be able to get the perfect shot!
-Stop in the small towns outside Yellowstone!  They areas are so cute and the perfect places to grab a souvenir and a meal!

Do you have any tips for visiting Yellowstone?! We would love to hear them! Hope you have a wonderful weekend :)
