Last week, Jake and I got to spend all of Monday at the Sundance Film Festival! We got there early in the afternoon and spent the day on Main Street in Park City. We had tickets for a movie called The Moo Man later in the evening to see the premier for it. We were so excited because it was the first Sundance Film we have both ever been to! We wanted to get tickets for more movies, but with just getting home from Arizona, and leaving for Alt, one movie was enough for this year. Next year we will sign up for a few movies :) If anyone wants to come join us...let me know :)

One thing Jake and I did not want to miss checking out the Nintendo Lounge!  We had fun playing the new games for Wii U. Jake and I have been holding off on buying one, but after our fun time playing one...I think its time in the near future we buy one.

With the handheld game pad, on the Mario game you can create blocks to help you boost to reach high places. The new Mario game had super neat levels and new worlds! It is a must to get now!

After playing some games Jake and I headed to a favorite of ours for some food, Davanza's. There you feel at ease with the beer canned walls, picture decor, and fun atmosphere   I used to come here every time I went snowboarding at the Canyons or Park City. Those were the good old collage days.

In the evening, Jake and I went to see the premier of The Moo Man. I can not say enough good things about this movie. I really hope it comes to film. The directors did an amazing job taking all the moments that were captured on film and editing it to a lovely story. At the end of the movie, everyone in the audience was in tears, and gave a standing ovation. I am pretty sure we all loved it :)

The film was about an English milk farmer Stephan Hook and his family on the farm. It showed the daily life on a cow farm, the positive relationships with the cows, and how it is also a hard life. There were a few births in the movie of new little cows that was really well filmed. It was sweet to see how the mothers care for their new borns. The scenery, the music for the film, the people, the relationships, and even the cute little dog Tinkie were all so beautiful!

With how the markets are in Europe, Milk Farms are a dying breed. The movie shows how Stephen Hook showed such personal care of his cows and how he saved his farm. He found ways to bring milk to people door to door to give them a taste of real raw organic milk.

After the film Stephen Hook, his father Phil, and the Trufflepig Film directors were all there to say hello and take some questions! I loved the film even more after hearing what they had to say. Such vibrant, charming and warming personalities.

After the film, Jake and I left feeling so happy and inspired! We really felt like it was time to start shopping a little more local, and eating a bit more healthy. (small steps at a time :) So, we headed over to Whole Foods, because we both wanted to try some raw organic milk that was non pasteurized  We couldn't find raw, but we could find some that was not pasteurized  Oh wow it was good! And we got the chocolate milk kind to..in a glass bottle. I dont think life could of gotten any more better?!

When Jake and I got home, we checked our 3DS to see if anyone else had their street passes on at the Nintendo Lounge! We actually made lots of new mi friends, including each other! Here is Jake and my mi's meeting for the first time :) Do you think our mi's look like us? haha

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean 3DS and PS3 Games

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Pirates for the 3DS is the best game ever!

When Jake and I first got our Nintendo 3DS, Pirates was the first game I got! I LOVED it so much I beat it 3 times in a week. You couldn't get me off my 3DS. I would play it every night for a few hours for months. That is bad, but it lets you know it is a fun, good game! Like all LEGO games, you first have to play through the whole game before you can start unlocking charters to help you get all the secrets. For some reason, I love finding all the secrets.  I will play a game over and over until I find all of them. One suggestion I would have is collect all the coins you can every time you are playing. That way you can purchase more people sooner to help you get a higher percentage to finish the game. I was super impressed with the awesome graphics for a little hand held device. This game is kid friendly and super fun! Sometimes LEGO games are hard to figure out, but if you cant figure out what to do, go on line and look up the level you are on and watch a video run through.

As for the PS3 Pirates video game, that one is alot harder than the 3DS game! (my nephew who is 10 does a great job with it) You have more tasks you have to do, and more intense ways of finding things. But for some reason these games are a blast. They are so cute because they take you through the movies, so you feel like you are playing a fun game and watching all the Pirates movie in LEGO form. It is way cute! The PSP I think would be really difficult for a younger child to play and figure things out, but then again, kids are smarter than I am on these kinds of things :)

My only complaint on these LEGO games is that you have to finish an entire level before you can quit and save. I guess that is like a normal video game, but these levels are long. But if you dont try and find all the secrets, the levels would go by quick.

LEGO- Harry Potter Years 5-7 Nintendo 3DS Game

This game is awesome! I think since it is a newer LEGO game it is easier to follow along and find out what to do. It also could be to, most LEGO games are similar and if you play one, you can figure out the rest. This game follows the movies really well. Its fun because instead of switching charters a lot, you are usually switching what spell you are using to unlock something and go to the next step. The charters are super funny to watch and fun!

Like all LEGO games, I highly recommend getting all the coins you can all the time so when you finish the game and unlock things you can purchase them with the coins you collected.

I did have a few problems with this game glitching up on my and freezing which I dont think is normall and I have never had happen in any other LEGO game, so I dont know what went on those few times it happened...

With this game being years 5-7 for Harry Potter, it is a bit more dark. Since the game follows the movies, this game is a little darker. Meaning I would be kind of scared to play this game by my self in the late hours of the night. I am also a wimp though.

This game says for ages 7 and up but I always wonder about that. I feel sometimes I have a hard tiem figuring things out, but when I call my 8 year old nephew for how to do something and he tells me how to do it, I guess the age 7 is appropriate for this game ;)

On finding the secrets, in this game you really have to destroy everything and try everything to get all the secrets. I had to play a few games many, many, many times to try and find some hats and tokens I was missing. Worth it though. Its always fun to collect all the extra items!

a pirates life for me!

Sunday, May 22, 2011

This week has been the best ever! Loved every moment of it! Well, after Staceys going away party Monday night, she called and asked if I could give her a ride to the airport! OF COURSE! I was sad to take her to leave, but glad to have some fun time with her! We left bright and early for her flight! It was super rainy out, as it was all week! After I dropped her off at the airport I drove over to the HomeGoods store. While I waited for the store to open I played on my new Nientedo 3D and played Pirates! I beat the game, so now I am just going back and playing to get all the extra secrets! It was the best ever listening to the rain! Oh I love the rain! and driving in the rain! Then I went to the store and found some fun stuff! While I was on my way home I decided to stop and look around IKEA.
I felt like the trip was a success! I was able to get some lamp fixtures I have been wanting! I have looked at every hard wear store, and all different kind of store looking for these! and out of all places...IKEA! I also was able to get some candles I needed! wahoo!
Then some how I ended up going to the fabric store again.......and went and got Jake a surprise! I love my 3D Nientedo so much, I thought I would get Jake one! I am going to be out of town and thought he should have something fun to do while I am gone! He finished his Pokemon game and loved it so much (100 plus hours put into it) that I thought he should get a new one! Also I loved my Lego game so much I got him the Star Wars one! wahoo!
Tunas dino egg is growing really super slowly. Maybe someday it will come out of its shell.
Then to top off an awesome Tuesday....We went to Rubios! Today we didn't get our original tacos and got a shrimp burrito! It was good, but I think nothing is better than there tacos and amazing salsa! Then the "squeeze of the day" deal was buy one Jamba get one Jamba free! So of course we had to go! And then...I had a free loaf of bread at Great Harvest...so we got one of those to! What a great time!
Tuna likes Jamba.
Then dad sent us an awesome package! He is the best at his hand outs and  he sent us a bunch a great hand outs and teaching tools for our Sunday School class! Wahoo! Best dad ever!
Anyone love Disney Movie Rewards? Ok its the best thing ever! We get so many fun free movies from it! Thanks Walter. I am excited to watch Ella Enchanted! I have not seen this movie forever!
The turtles are my pride and joy! I think they are way to cute! I love when they sit on the rock and just let go and stretch their legs out. So dang cute. It is time to give the turtle tank a clean.

Wednesday! I woke up, got ready and got to meet my freind Ruth for lunch at PF Changs! Love it there! It was fun to get to know her better! Then I got to make crafts all day! Jake was a gem and helped my by starting to make me some labels for my crafts! He is the best!  I got to do an eyelash client, and then watch Americas Next Top Model! Wahoo! I was so shocked Brittany won! I liked her! Way to go!

Thursday we went to these two love birds wedding reception! Eric and Kimmi! They were so cute and looked so happy! We were all in the same singles ward, so it was fun to see them get together and eventually get married! Congratulations you two!
At the reception they had waffles! So cute! They were delicious! Looking at this picture, I want another one! Oh the yummy chocolate syrup! It was great to see some friends from my old singles ward! I love seeing people!
On our way home we saw the Timpanagos Temple. It was really pretty after a light rain!
Thursday night Jake fished all my labels! They have a front and backside! I love them! I am now ready for my upcoming boutique! Wahoo! Friday I spent the whole day cutting them out and whole punching! I think they make the products look so cute!
Tuna was a great help putting labels on everything. He is such a great friend. Well, when Jake got home, he had a surprise date planned! We started off getting yummy Chick a fila! So yummy..then we headed over to the movies!
Guess what we saw???!?!?!! YES!!!! Pirates Four! It was awesome! Loved it all! I love PIRATES!

I liked that I felt in the movie there was just one plot going on instead of a few plots for each character. It was easier to follow along! Megan was going to come to the movie with us but she ended up having to take dinner to a friend in need, and so we all went to In and Out Burger! Yum! I got a yummy shake!
A trip to In and Out Burger is only complete after playing with the stickers!
There is a super cool game on the 3DS that you take pictures of people and shoot tennis balls at them and it makes their faces do funny things. It fun! Well I had, Jake and Tunas face, and some of Tunas animals friends faces, but need more. So I got Megan's face. She tried playing the game. She liked it! Everyone in the store was looking at us weird because for the game you have to move all around. I think maybe they thought we were video taping them. We weren't. Just playing a game! Then after some yummy food, we headed over to our place to play DONKEY KONG! What a great game! Megan and I are getting so far in that game! We played till one am!
Saturday was a great day! We got to go get Costco for lunch! Always delicious! Then we got some samples, saw Heather because she works there, and got Claire a birthday present for her birthday party later Saturday night!
Then we went to the mall to get some screen covers for our Nientedos! Then we went to Cold Stone. We got Cookie Dont You Want Some? but replaced the ice cream with Oatmeal Cookie Dough Batter ice cream! So good! Must try!
Then after some yummy ice cream..of course we went to Gardner Village. Then we  went to the Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele. It was a blast! Sunday we discovered we were bitten by tons of bugs, but worth it! It was so much fun!
This is what I call a great time! 40 mph!
No seat belts! Tuna sat on my lap the whole time! He held on so tight! The whole time he was yelling, go faster! At the end I spun out! That was the best part!
Then for the whole reason we went out to Toole! Cute little Claires Birthday Party! She was so cute! We ate cookies, played with family and bounced some balloons! It was a great time!
Well, Saturday night we got home late from all our adventures. We whipped up our Sunday School Lesson and some rice crispy treats! We are in charge of another class tomorrow so we just made some simple treats! Then the night ended with some great Pirates Lego Game! Wahoo!
Sunday morning I woke up to this picture. Yes.....I still sleep with animal friends.... This has  been a great week!

Sunday we had our lesson, went to church, came home, talked to family and friends, and watched some Office! Great time! Happy Birthday Cami! I love you!

Oh and great news!!!! Tomorrow, MONDAY NIGHT THE BACHLORETTE STARTS!  Wahoo!  I am excited for that!

Donkey Kong Country Returns- BEST GAME EVER!

Thursday, January 20, 2011

For my 23 birthday, Jake came to pick me up to go to Disneyland, and he handed me this envelope! Inside was.........DONKEY KONG COUNTRY RETURNS! I have never been so excited! I could of skipped Disneyland and went straight to playing the game! (its that good of a game)

For anyone who is a Donkey Kong lover, you MUST get this game. You will not be disappointed it. It is a hard game to beat, but well worth the time you put into it. This game, there is a lot of timing sequences with jumping to different ropes, or off of hot lava, or running away from monkey eating spiders. I feel though the time I put into this game was well rewarded because it really helped my skills for other video games. It really did.

The graphics are amazing for this game. Sometimes it makes the monkeys come close up to the screen or far distant, and it all looks so realistic. (realistic cartoon wise).  If you are having trouble with a game, keep dying until the white monkey comes. He will show you how to beat the game. In fact he will beat it for you, but whats the fun in that? Watch him beat it, and then go back and do it yourself.

On DKCR there are some new kinds of levels. There are ones where you have to ride rockets and weave in and out of levels and they are sooo tuff. I think some of those games I had to play 100 times over and over to pass it.

There are pigs in the games that wave flags and give you clues or allow the white kong to come. They are also the halfway marks. Guess what? Some games have 3 half way marks the game is so intense or long. The pigs are really cute though and cheer you on to dont give up and keep going.

I love this game so much I have played and beat it 3 complete times. I could play this game everyday. It does get stressful. It is a game you have to think about and sit straight up playing. No slouching on this game.

CHEATS: So, I like to beat games and get all the extras, and some were really hard to find becuase there would be 9 hidden puzzle pieces so I cheated. I watched video walk throughs online to help me find all the puzzle pieces. They were also super helpful to because they taught you some skils about jumping and rolling to get to things!
