me in a nutshell

Normally this is not an outfit I would put together for an outfit post. This is an outfit I picked up off the floor and ran out the door to go to lunch in. When I am in a hurry I grab whatever is on the top of the laundry basket to wear :) Somehow though, this outfit seems to be me in a nutshell. My sweet friend Sasha and I got to go out to lunch and she had her camera with her and took these pictures :) She always can capture the moment! I dont know why, but for so many reasons, I feel these pictures describe me to a T. 

1. Way quirky (can you find Tuna?)

2. Mix and matchy..I always wear way to many patterns and different combos

3. Faux fur- I love big coats and singing rap songs. They help me feel thug ;)

4. Sunglasses- These sunglasses were my dads (my favorite sunnies because of that!) I feel I have always looked so much like him, and with no make up on like in these pictures, I look even more like him ;)

5. Jakes T-shirt - I love wearing Jakes clothes. I like the smell of them after he has worn them.

6. Star Trek- I have always been a nerd and love geeky things. I can't resist! Especially when my husband loves all that kind of stuff too!

7. Cheetah Print- I used to be obsessed with Cheetah print and my entire room in collage was decked out in cheetah gear!

8. Gold tipped shoes- I like gold anything :)

9. Waxed Jeans - I am obsessed with them! When I find something I like, I buy it over and over and over again. I bought way to many of these waxed jeans. I just love the way they feel when I am wearing them! 

And the list could go on....!

Chillin by the Lakeside

Today I am wearing black women's bow tie I made with my favorite waxed jeans and suede shoes! Have you guys tried waxed jeans yet?! They are Jake and I's favorite! We both tend to only buy waxed jeans now because we love the way they fit and feel.  Jake is wearing one of my favorite blazers of his today. I always love a classy blazer and t-shirt on a man. We went down by the lake to take these pictures and we were loving the background! With the weather getting a little sunny around here, the snowcapped mountains and scenery have been amazing!

call me john lennon

Wow, could I look anymore like John Lennon today? Round glasses, large forehead, turtleneck with a collared jacket...too much... haha! When Jake and I took these pictures it was so windy outside! We couldn't get one picture with out hair flying, ties going over the shoulder, or my skirt hitting me in the face :) But I guess thats what makes taking pictures an adventure! I am in love with this huge tree stump we took pictures by. We will have to go back sometime and get pictures on a not windy day, and at a better time of the day when the sun is not so bright. We still had some fun though!  Here are some pictures we scrapped together. 

Ok, so I thought this picture was too funny not to post. Jake and I were laughing so hard about this picture! See what I mean, it was a crazy windy picture day?! On this picture, Jake had swung his hand back and his ring hit the top of my hand, and it was so cold out, with numb hands...yep...the expression says it all...OUCH!

Neons and Bright Yellow

I have always loved bright colors! Sooo.. I am LOVING the Neon trend right now! I loved this hot pink neon floral blazer I found at Ann Taylor Loft, and loved that it let me play up some bright colors with it! I decided to go with some bright yellow accents, because I have a ton of yellow in my closet, it made it easy!

Also, can I talk about this beautiful handmade necklace from Erika Lauren?! I LOVE IT! Guess what? I won a giveaway, and won this beautiful necklace from Erika! Faux Fur and Elbow Patches

OK! This is officially my favorite coat ever!!!! Right when I saw it I knew I had to own it? Do you ever have magical items like that?!

Funny story about these boots. 3 years ago when I met Jakes family for the first time, I had these boots on most of the week. One day we were out exploring Maryland and we found a cool brick pathway with a cement floor. It was a tight pathway, so Jake and I decided to take a picture with our legs across  one on each wall holding us up. My shoes were so slippery, I slid right to the ground and ouch it hurt! I had tights on so I thought I was fine till I saw my tights were not purple anymore on my knee. It was bloood red :) I remember the whole week, my knee being really pussy and gross and ruined all my tights with puss. Now I have a huge nasty scar on my knee, but it reminds me of the fun adventures I had the first time I got to meet Jakes fam!
