a trip to the Planetarium

A few weeks ago, Jake asked me to go on a special date. Of course I said yes! (I love that Jake still asks me on dates even though we are married now.)  Well, little did I know he wanted to recreate our very first date. Back in the day..Jake had gone running with me for 2 months straight every night before I said ok to go on an official date with him. How horrible am I?!  Well, on our first date Jake took me to the BYU Planetarium. I was so impressed because I told him on one of our late night jogs, that one of my favorite things was looking at stars. I love looking a night sky! I was impressed that Jake remembered that from going on our jogs. He is always so sweet and thoughtful still to this day. Soo....present time, Jake and I went to the BYU Bookstore, got some candy and went to watch the Planetarium show. It was so much fun! I got a chocolate covered carmel from the Bookstore and it was sooo yummy! I think the best part was remembering the fun time I had on our first official date.

It was a great evening! After the show we enjoyed a yummy dinner, and headed home. Such a fun evening for me! Do you have any dates you remember well or have a special place in your heart?!

Best Lunch Date EVER!

A few weeks ago, Jake asked me in the evening, if I wanted to to go to lunch the next day with him. I thought that sounded really fun, so of course I said yes! The next day, I came and picked up Jake from work and we headed to lunch. We really wanted to eat at Wallaby's for some yummy food. All of Jakes coworkers had the same idea and were there for lunch too! So we sat with them, and had fun talking and hanging out with his co workers. 

After lunch, I wanted to take some funny pictures of Tuna around the restaurant  (Tuna is my monkey I take with me everywhere..) We were walking around Wallabys finding places to take Tunas picture. I took Tuna out of my bag, and held him up. I about freaked out because it looked like he had a bracelet on. I thought...where did he get that?  Then I realized it was a pretty ring that Tuna was wearing! Jake had surprised me with an amazing ring, and snuck it on Tunas arm for me to find it sometime that day! I about died with excitement when I saw the ring! I even shed a few tears. 

I have been wanting this ring for months! Before we bought our house, I saw this ring and wanted it so bad, but we were just buying a house, so a ring was a no go. After we moved in our house, I wanted it even more but, when you just buy a house, it takes a bit of time to figure out how much bills are and getting a handle on new finances. Jake and I recently went and looked for this ring, and the store was sold out. I was so sad. Jake said we could just get the ring made, but I was still sad.

Jake had some good ideas and called around to any store that might carry this ring. Jake found a store in Arizona (that had the last ring of this ever made...ahhh!), and called my sweet sister Amber.  My sister Amber drove to the store and picked up the ring, and shipped it off to Jake. She is the best! 

Well, Jake wanted this ring for my easter basket, but he knew I would be more than excited to get it, so he gave it to me early! I love my cute husband so much! He is so sweet to me. Well, thats my story on my super fun lunch date with Jake :) What a great day!

I am a addict

Hi! My name is Kelsey and I have an addiction to buying stuffed animals.

Its funny how a love of something can become a small addiction. I have grown up loving stuffed animals and still love them to this day! I knew Jake and I bought a small amount of stuffed animals, but to see how many we have collected in just 2 years! (and this is not including our Christmas animals!) Getting out all the animal friends and looking at them all laid out I realized I have a little bit of a problem! Jake and I realized to we have a lot of doubles of some of our favorite stuffed animals. That probably means we have even more of a problem! We just have so much fun getting souvenirs,  going to Build a Bear, and buying stuffed animals, its more fun for us than anything! But seeing all the animals lined up, I feel bad they dont get the attention they should get, and also....to many stuffed animals can be a money pit. Time to do better ;)

Well I think the best thing to do is laugh, and play with my animal friends! And maybe I should be more thoughtful when I buy stuffed animals and think to myself....I cant provide a good home for the animal friend because he ends up in a bucket, let them get bought by someone who has kids, or can spend time with the animal friend.

At least when we have kids, we wont have to worry about our child not having any animal friends!

Jake was worried if I ever lost Tuna we would need a replacement (a very sweet thought on Jakes part). But Tuna can never be replaced, but here are his cute brothers :)

Salt Lake City Cemetery

Last week Jake and I spent some time checking out Salt Lake City Cemetery. I never knew a huge plot of land was located in SLC. With the white snow, and fog out, the cemetery was so peaceful and lovely. The cemetery was huge and seemed to go on in every direction for miles.  It was really neat checking out a cemetery that has been around since the 1800's. There were the neatest headstones. I want to go back here sometime in the fall or so, because I am sure the trees would be so beautiful  and you would be able to see all the head stones. A lot of the headstones were just barely popping out in the snow, so it would be interesting to see. When we were driving around, we even saw 2 deer prancing around the grave yard. They looked to be enjoying themselves.

For some reason, I enjoy going to cemeteries  I like how it makes me think, and I like the peacefulness. I remember growing up, when my friends and I went to tennis lessons, we always made our moms drive us through the cemetery. Weird I know, but I have fun memories of that. I also really enjoy reading the headstones. I like to imagine what someone looked like, what they enjoyed doing, if they had a family of their own, wonder what they lived for, ext.

Driving around the cemetery it got me thinking about life, what I have done so far in life, and all my hopes and dreams. I really began to think a lot how I feel I am so lucky to be happy in life, and how I want to share that with others. I feel I have been blessed throughout my life to always feel positive and happy and I hope to share that with others too.

The more I explore Utah, the more I am loving living here. I never thought I would ever live in Utah, or even own a home in Utah, but life is unpredictable sometimes right?! Its been a great time so far, and I love going on adventures with Jake. I am excited to explore and get to know Utah a bit better throughout the years.  I also love how beautiful it is here. The day we were at the cemetery happened to be such a amazingly foggy and white snowy day :) Here are some pictures we took...

I talked to my mom after I got home from the cemetery and found out my lovely Grandma Ruby and Grandpa Reid (my mother parents) are buried here! Now I will for sure have to come back in the summer with some fresh flowers and come say hello :)

Married 2 Years :)

I cant believe 2 years ago today, Jake and I got married! This past 2 years has flown by! I have really loved being married to Jake. He is always so kind and loving. I am so grateful that he loves me and that we found each other. I think he is the only one that could of gotten me to get married :) I told myself I wasn't going to get married till I was at least 30 :) But now I love having someone fun to always go on adventures with and spend time with. Looking back at these past 2 years, we have gone through so much together already. Lots of great times!  I would say this past year of my life has been physically and emotionally the hardest in my life yet. I loved Jake being so supportive and always coming to doctors appointments with me, always spending time talking with me, and just being a loving husband. I love that he always takes time to make me happy and put a smile on my face.  I think most of all, I love that I can always be my corky self around Jake. He is so supportive and is always cheering me on and making me a better person.  I feel so blessed to have him in my life!

I love looking back at our wedding photos. Its fun to look back and remember how excited I was to get married to Jake. I knew he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I am so glad we are now our own little family. Life is great :) Wow 2 years! 

Also, The Bachelor starts tonight....and I could not be any more excited! YEAH!!!
