One of my favorite parts of winter is all the layering! I love layering clothes! Its the best! I got this turtle neck at Jcrew, and loved it so much I went and bought it in every color! Its so great to have for layering; it goes with lots of clothing options! And right now, they are all on sale at Jcrew too for super cheap!

Belly Up by Stuart Gibbs

My mom gave me a Barnes and Noble gift card for my bday! I was so excited. It actually could of not come at a more perfect time. I have really wanted to start reading again, and some new books could do the trick to get me started again! A few nights ago Jake and I went to Barnes and Noble and I picked out 5 new books! Wahoo! The first book I got was called Belly Up by Stuart Gibbs, I could not wait to read it when I got home. I got home and started reading it at 7pm and couldn't put the book down till I finished it at 12:30am! I LOVED this book! It seriously had me on the edge of my seat the whole time reading it! Jake even brought me food (I will do anything for food) and I didn't even notice my food because I couldn't stop reading! I think that right there, says how great and exciting the book is!

Belly Up is a murder mystery about a hippo! Teddy Fitzroy moves to Texas with his parents who work at the newest theme park called FunJungle. Teddy grew up in the Congo, and is adjusting to life now living at a theme park. Within the first few pages (or reading the back cover of the book) you find out the famous hippo mascot Henry has died. As Teddy finds the entire event odd, he researches and finds out what happened to the hippo. I dont want to spoil anything else though....I do love the trust that Teddys parents have for him, and the new friends he makes in the story. I was surprised at all the twists in turns in the books. I really had no idea how..or who..or why...the hippo died from till the very end.

I feel this book was very well written. It flowed and was very easy to follow along. I even felt the author did a great job researching animals and ideas he was writing about because he explained them all very well. I feel I learned a good amount about animals and how they react in the wild. I would recommend this book to anyone! Especially someone who likes a mystery, animal, fun, easy read!

I am happy I am in the mood to read again! I am excited to read some more books this Christmas week!

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas! What a wonderful holiday so far! Christmas is here! So exciting! Here are a couple funny pictures Jake and I took by the tree in our Mickey Mouse Christmas PJs last night ;) I am so grateful for so many things this year. Especially at Christmas time, I am so grateful for the life of Christ and great family to spend the holidays with :)

Giant Gingerbread Men

Wow, Happy Christmas EVE!!!  I really am having trouble believing Christmas is tomorrow! Whoooooa! This year has really gone by so fast! Thinking back on the year, a ton of things have happened, so it makes sense its already December, but every year, I feel Christmas comes and goes. Bummer. Last  night Jake and I had some fun decorating some gingerbread men. We were so excited to decorate a house, but realized we waited way too many years to make it, and it was broken. That was a bummer. But good thing we had some gingerbread in storage to!

I cant wait to make some cookies tonight for Santa! I love this cookies and milk plate I found at Target! Target always has great stuff! Well happy Christmas eve! Hope you have a wonderful day and evening! I am excited to reflect a bit on Jesus Christs birth, and my gratitude for him.

Thanksgiving Point Reindeer and Lights

This week, Jake and I had some serious holiday plans. Well, sadly we both got sick. Jake not so sick as I though, he was still ok to go to work. I was in bed all week with the worst flu ever. I was so sad, because we both felt to sick to go out and do any of the fun holiday plans we had. We even got stuff to make gingerbread houses, and have not felt well to do anything:( One night, I was so tired of being in the house, we decided to go to Thanksgiving Point to at least say hi to the Reindeer and drive through the lights. We thought, with driving through the lights, we could stay in the car and not get to cold. I was sad though, because I really wanted to do the horse trolly through the lights. I guess next year :)

Over by the water tower there were ice sculptures! There was a sign that said they had ice demos every day to. That sound like something I would like to check out next year to!

Next we hopped back in our car to drive through the lights! It reminded me when Jake and I got to do this last year at Valley of the Lights by our cabin with my mom (and its free in AZ to :). Oh how holidays are amazing there! Thanksgiving Points Holiday Lights were great too though! A good filler for not being in AZ right now.

After a fun time at the lights, Jake and I went to go see the Hobbit! We still had some energy, so we thought we would see a late night movie. Wow, we both LOVED the movie! We had heard such mixed reviews on the movie I was surprised at how much we liked it! I heard the movie lags on and is long, but I dont think that at all! They just played out any scene from the book, big time, and it was amazing! I bit off all my nails in suspense. (I never bite my nails.) We want to go see the movie again  Hopefully soon!

a BIG day for the Harris Household

Last night was a HUGE night for Jakes family! His youngest brother Wesley came home from a  Mission in Toulouse France. I am a member of the LDS church (most people know us as Mormons), and in our church, you can choose when you reach a certain age if you would like to serve a mission. On your mission, you dedicate your life to serving Jesus Christ and teaching about the LDS church to those you meet and come in contact with. Wesley left on his mission a few days after Jake and I got married! Its crazy to think how fast 2 years have flown by, and that he is now home! I have never seen Jakes mom soo excited! She has been more than ready for Wesley to come home. I am excited to have him back. I feel like he will add alot of joy to this holiday season coming up :)

I guess Tuesday nights at the Salt Lake Airport is a crazy one. Check out all these people waiting for missionaries to come home!

We finally spotted him! The suspense waiting for Wesley was intense. You would see other missionaries coming home, or random people getting off their flight, so we were all so ecstatic when we saw Wesley!

When we left the airport, we wanted to steal Wesley and take him home with us. haha, well have to do it another night once he has been home for a few days ;) Jake and I made a list of fun things we wanted to share with him that has happend since he has been gone. I think the biggest one is the Nientedo 3DS. Its probably my favorite invention from the last 2 years :) Wesley, were so glad to have you home! We love you!
