Every Reindeer Needs a Santa Hat

Sunday night was a fun one! Jake and I whipped out the Christmas decor! With boutiques coming up, and lots of sewing I have been needing to do, I thought....why not put up the Christmas decor while I have some time!? haha I didn't want to pass over Thanksgiving and not give it the recognition it needs (its important to be grateful!) but life's been so crazy busy, I guess I am skipping every holiday. Halloween, My bday and Thanksgiving! I keep telling Jake, the holidays will not start till December 16, after all boutiques and sewing is over! And I am totally fine with that :) At least with some Christmas decor it will make the home feel homey!

Putting on christmas ornaments.  We did an all handmade christmas tree ornaments this year! We got most of our ornaments and Anthropologie and Crate and Barrel! Oh they have the best stuff!

I like how you can barley see Tuna and Pokey sitting on the couch staring at the Christmas tree lights. They were so excited for the lights to be hung! I think I may need to string some lights on the brick wall and on the stair railing.

I think it will be nice to enjoy the evening lights with a cozy fire! Life is so wonderful!

I got Jake and I Mickey and Mini stockings for us to use on Christmas. I lined the burlap stockings, but I dont want to use them for our stockings so I got us these ones!  There is just something nice about a soft, cozy Christmas Stocking! I cant wait for Santa to use them :)

This year will be my first Christmas not at home in AZ :( and not going to Disneyland. Jake was so sweet and let me go get a little Disney fix at the Dinseystore! I could not resist these super cute Pooh, Pluto, Stich, Mickey, Mini in their Christmas winter attire! They were so dang cute! Now I can look at them everyday and pretend I am at Disneyland seeing the pretty castle lights and watching the firework show. haha

Every christmas season, I love to buy Christmas movies! I am such a movie gal! I love movies, and holiday movies...even better! So of course, with Christmas already in stores, I am already buying Christmas movies :) Cant wait to watch A Very Perry Christmas!

I think I am a little to excited for Christmas.....I even got all my families Christmas presents and sent them to their homes. haha Sometimes I am a little to extreem. haha Now time to decorate the rest of the house Christmasy!!

Bloggers Beauty Night Out

This is the super cute Gentri Lee! Gentri and I have been talking online, so it was so nice to finally meet her in person! Last Saturday, she had a super fun girl get together at a new salon she just started working at in Draper! She just got her esthetician license and is building up her cliental  She had the wonderful idea to through a fun party, get girls together and show us what she can do! She is amazing! 

All the bloggers :) I was sad we didn't get to the party till the end (we had already committed to going to the passion fruit mixer before we knew about Gentris party) but I felt we got there in time to meet everyone that was there and get to know some ladies! It was great! I never knew there were so many bloggers in Utah! Its fun getting to know them and make friends!

Passion Fruit Ads Mixer

Last Saturday, I had the fun time of joining Diana and Alycia at a fun mixer in Salt Lake. We got to grab some dinner, make new friends  eat yummy food, and lots of good treats from the mixer. Gourmandise, one of Jakes families favorite places even had french treats at the mixer. The mixer was sponsored by Passion Fruit Ads. They are an online company designed to make your life easier! They help sell, set up and manage your online ads for your blog. It was fun to meet the owners of the company. They were super kind to! They even had some fun giveaways at the party! I won a gift bag! Wahoo!

After we left, it was snowing! We didn't even realize the whole time we were inside..it was snowing and there was tons of snow waiting for us outside! It was pretty :)

weekly update

Wow, what a week! This has been our first week in our home and we are all unpacked! Wahoo! Now I need to go through everything and get rid of stuff! Monday was Jakes cute mom's birthday! We got to go celebrate with her at Corner Bakery for dinner!

And for dinner I got a turkey caperize sandwich and salad! YUM! Corner Bakery is one of my all time favorite places to eat!

Tuesday night our basement flooded. This is the aftermath after all the water drained. Ah everything in the entire basement got wet. It was a huge bummer. There was an inch of water all over. Our amazing Plummer came over and saved the day.

This is what he found in the drain.....it was clogged with cement :( Well at least its fixed now.

Tuesday night Jake and I hung the first item in our house! Wahoo! We got this super cool stag head at Restoration Hardware. Hes a keeper! Wednesday  Jakes (now mine to :) super sweet Aunt Christi came over and helped me unpack! Oh she's the best! I was jsut getting tired of unpacking and she was the boost I needed. We finished the kitchen, panty, and master closet! She is the best! I will always remember how sweet she is. It seriously made my week having that help!

Thrusday, Diana was so cute and came over! We have fun chatting and showing her our new place!

Isnt Oliva the cutest?! We really bonded this time around. If I ever need a baby sitter for Tuna and Pokey, I now know who to call :)

Thursday evening, Jake and I ran some errands and got some Yogurtland! YUMMMMY!

Friday it snowed, and snowed, and snowed and didn't stop once from morning, till evening! Jake came home so excited to shovel the driveway! I was so glad he was so excited about it! He really was!

For dinner, I was craving meat! So we went to dinner at Tucanos! Oh so yummy!

I am ready for some meat!

Friday, Jake and I did some shopping at the Disney store at the mall! I love the trees with fresh snow on them. It is beautiful!

After we went to go to the movies, but realized we didn't really have much time, so we got some pizza!

The kitchen is coming along! I need the cabinets to be fixed so I can go get glass in the doors! I feel like its the last thing on the house to do and I am dying to get them done! I want the kitchen to be finished  I guess in time right?!

Getting Settled In :)

We are getting all settled in! Wahoo! I can say this is the first time since our last place we lived I have been sleeping through the entire night! Oh its been so dreamy! I dont know if I just sleep extra cozy knowing we have our own home, or we can make the temperature whatever we want, or what, but its been nice! I love not waking up in the middle of the night! We still have tons and tons of unpacking to do. Its funny when I am going through all our junk. I feel like a hoarder! Its nice to get rid of some things, and find new places for other things! 

One thing I have been struggling with is the kitchen. Its been so fun having tons of cabinet space, but I dont know exactly where I want to put things yet. Maybe I should cook a meal or two, and see where I graviate to to find things :) I did know right away I wanted my piggy timer on top of the oven :) Well, I cant wait to be all the way unpacked, hang things on the walls, and find places for things! I have been working hard on it all last week, and am almost done ;) Wahoo!

I have been thinking lately, I am so excited to start having a life style. I feel like we were not planning on staying in Utah before, and our place was a rental, so I never really built roots here. I feel like now that we are stuck here :) that its time to build some roots. Time to make friends, read books before we go to bed, cook meals every night, make treats, time to make a life style. Not that we have not had one before, but I think its time to start doing things we wanted to do, and make it happen :) Life is great!

Turtle Talk with Mr. T

Last Monday, Mr. T had his little episode with getting bitten really bad. He was doing good Tuesday, but not eating. Wednesday late evening, his tank got full of blood again. Poor little guy :( So we took him out of the water, made him a cozy bed till it was morning to take him to the doctor. Thursday Jake had a half day so we could finish up packing and get ready to move so he got to go to the doctors with Mr. T and I. Wow, I cant say enough about how awesome Mr. T's doctor is. She is the neatest lady ever!

We got Mr. T some medicine to hopefully kill the pain and help his infection heal nicely. Also to get his appetite back. I never knew turtles could have medicine. The doctor showed us how to give Mr. T his medicine  I actually think he kind of likes it :) He is really good for Jake every time he gives it to him. (2 times a day) I am so surprised with how affordable turtle doctor visits and medicine are. I was nervous about that, and the prices were really affordable.

This Monday I had another scare with Mr. T. I thought he was dead. He was not moving and his water in his tank was really frothy. Dont worry, he is totally ok. I think he was playing dead on me. Silly turtle :) Well, the turtles are all doing great! Mr. T is eating again and seems to be himself :)
