Cactus Fiesta Party Food and Decor

Jake recently graduated with his MBA and it was time for a celebration!   I wanted to plan a surprise party for him since Jake loves surprises!  He really loves catcti so I knew it needed to be a cactus party!  The party was on Cinco De Mayo so I thought it should have a little fiesta vibe too!

When I was planning the party I knew I needed some super fun decor, so I headed to Zurchers to find some supplies!  I was so excited when I was at the store and found lots of great goodies! I got all the pom poms, garland, balloons, paper straws, napkins, cups, plates, chalk boards, sombreros, and photo booth supplies there!  You can shop for your own cactus party collection with everything here in one spot!

Our friend Emmy makes the most amazing cupcakes! Jakes favorite are the maple bacon, so I knew I had to see if she could make some for the party!  She made all the cupcakes, cactus sugar cookies and mini donuts for the celebration.  She did such an awesome job on them! I got the flower shaped sugar cookies and brownies at The Chocolate.

No party is complete with out some cute drinks! I always love getting glass bottles for parties because they also look darling!  Since the party was a fiesta cactus party I thought it would be fun to have some colorful drinks!

For the party, I wanted a fun activity for guests so we had a build your own terrarium table!  I got all the succulents, cactus dirt, and rocks at my favorite garden store, Sun River Gardens!  They were super awesome and ordered all the plants so I could have enough for the party and helped me find all the products I needed for the table.

I have an entire post coming up dedicated to how to "build your own terrarium!" so stayed tuned for that soon!  It will have more detailed pictures from the stations.  I ordered all the terrariums online at Amazon and got them all for about $1.50-$1.99 each.  I got two styles here and here.

Its not a fiesta without some chips and salsa!  I really loved how the balloon banners turned out!  I was worried that they wouldn't work how I envisioned them in my head and they were perfect!  They might of been the favorite part of the decor!

No party is complete these days without a photo spot!  I didn't know if guests would really use the photo wall but I wanted to make sure I had one!  I was so glad I added it because it was a hit!  I think almost every guest grabbed their photo here :)

Jake and I recently went on a fun adventure to visit beautiful Jackson Hole and Yellowstone!  We have had a chance to visit these areas before, this trip was a completely diffrent experience for us!  The weather was diffrent, the scenery was diffrent, it was all great!

These were our road trip outfits!  Jake wore his Rag and Bone Jacket he got a few years ago!  It was perfect for the rainy drive!  It rained most of our trip, so it was nice having a water resistant coat!  I remember when he tried on this coat he was like, I have to get it! hehe

I got these fun Cactus Tory Burch Flats on sale a few weeks ago and have been loving them!  They were the perfect travel shoes because they were easy to slip on and off!

We love California Adventure!  It is such a darling Disney park and a great place to spend the day!  Some of our favorite stops are Heimlich's Chew Chew Train, Monsters Inc., and Animation Studios!  We share why we love them and some of our favorite parts on our vlog below!  Make sure to check it out, comment and let us know what you think!

We tried a new place to eat this time called the Cove Bar.  It is a super fun place for drinks and appetizers!  The appetizers were huge and we only needed one to split, but it was fun to try two things!  We go the quesadillas and the lobster nachos.  For drinks we got a cotton candy lemonade and a strawberry smoothie!  We had fun sitting here and watching people on the rollercoaster and looking the water.  The wait was about 40 minutes to get in, but we enjoyed it and plan on going back to sit and get drinks here sometime!

I got these Dolce Vita Leopard Print Sandals years ago from Shopbop when they went on sale!  I love when I can get a pair of sandals or shoes and have them last years!  That is my favorite!  I saw currently Shopbop is having some amazing sales online right now and it is the perfect time to stock up on some summer wardrobe essentials! I am actually heading there right now to do some online shopping ;)

Jake recently got these new DSTLD jeans in the mail and he has been wearing them almost everyday since he got them!  He is obsessed with DSTLD because the fit, the price, and how they wear really well!  He has a few pairs he has had for over a year that he wears all the time, and they still look good as new!  We love brands that are great quality, stylish and we get our bang for our buck!  I picked up a few new pairs too and can't wait to wear them soon!

I saw a lot of questions about the sunglasses I was wearing on Instagram so I thought I would answer them!  The brand is called Le Specs and they have them in a several of fun colors!  The style is the Flashy Flat Lense Mirrored Sunglasses!

A few weekends ago a cute gal in our neighborhood asked us to come take pictures of her and her friends for there school Girl ask Guy dance.  The theme was disco so we met up at a roller skating rink to take the photos!  We had so much fun meeting them all and reminiscing on fun memories from high school!

We wore these outfits to meet up with the kids!  I recently got these Vince Espadrille Platforms and have been obsessed with them!  I literally wear them everywhere!  Grocery shopping, date night, out and about, they are perfect!  I saw Shopbop currently has these exact Vince Platforms on sale for killer deal and a lot of other awesome sales going on too!  No joke, go get them, they are super comfy and the perfect summer sandal!

SUN RIVER GARDENS + VLOG

Isn't this the cutest place ever?!  This is one of our all time favorite places to explore and wander around!  It is such an amazing garden and has an amazing selection of anything from home decor, gifts, pots and planters, succulents, outdoor plants, indoor plants, etc.

This trip we came to look for two indoor plants for two spaces in our home that needed a little green to them!  Sun River Gardens was super sweet and let us take pictures here while we were exploring!  There was a green house with a English theme that was our favorite!  We could spend all day wandering around here!

It was a fun rainy day out, so I was excited I got to wear my rain boots!  When we got to the gardens, the rain started to clear up a bit which was nice so we could explore the outdoor grounds of Sun River Gardens too!

One thing we love about Sun River Gardens is if there is anything you found you wanted potted, they will do it for you!  I do not have a green thumb at all, and arranging plants in a pot is not the easiest for me.  You can pick out what pots and plants you want, and they will do all the work for you!  It costs a little extra, but it is so worth it!  I have tried to pot my own plants and they never turn out as cute and professional as when I have them plant them for me!
