Sunday Roommate Dinner

Sunday, February 27, 2011

Dinner is ready to be served, and the table set! It will be a tight squeeze in the kitchen! Tonights dinner menu, Hawaiian Haystacks with homemade gravy chicken sauce, fresh homemade rolls and cake bites!
We improvised with some chairs around the house!
Ready to eat....now time to wait for the guests to arrive! At dinner it was fun to talk and catch up with everyone and see how they were all doing!
We were fourtante to have Morning, Shelly, Megan, Emily and Staceypants over for dinner! Megan was cracking me up modeling in these pictures. She is awesome! Here and I need to play some Donkey Kong asap!
We got to play a little Mario Cart on the Wii. Good times and lots of laughs! Morning rocked at it and got first place everytime!
bahhahahahh
Megan and I taking pictures of each other taking pictures.
Cutest husband ever to do all the dishes, and let me play Nientedo with all my old roommates! Tonight was a successful fun night! After the roommates left, Jake and I went to several neighbors houses to drop off some cake bite treats that I had bagged up yesterday! We had fun talking to the neighbors and getting to know them better! Now that the blog is caught up...time for crafts and TV! Wahoo! Sundays are great!

February is ending

Wahoo!!! New Furniture has arrived......now to decided where to put it all!
For Jakes birthday, we got to go out with some of Jakes family. It was fun! We ate at the Corner Bakery. Every sandwich or salad I have ever gotten from there I have loved! And there cookies are delicious!
After a great dinner we topped it off with some yummy cheese cake to go for all of us at the Cheese Cake Factory!
Reeses cheese cake is never disappointing!
Jake and I saw this pig timer and I had to have it! I was so excited when it came in the mail! Wahoo! I find odd reasons to use the timer to here it oink.  It works great!
Tuna was so excited to use his pig pen to oink back at the timer....
After a fun dinner and pink excitement, Jake started to work on the turtle tank. After the intestine episode with Mr. T we decided to get the turtle dock out and some rocks in the new home. Earlier that day we went to Rock Canyon to find some perfect rocks and some twigs for a project I wanted to work on. Jake was seeing the sink would not drain and so he decided to get a hanger to see what the problem was.
Ok this is nasty, nasty, nasty, but this is what was making the sink not drain. I dont know how someones hair clips, little brush and long hair got in the drain, but it was there. Jake almost threw up six times. Your a trooper babe. Way to go. I would of not been able to do that. While this was all going on, Heather was over interviewing Jake and I on life as a married couple. That was funny and fun.
The turtles love to be cozy. They love blankies. Three of them are in the blanket and Mr. T. is out side keeping guard. They are anxiously waiting for their new home to be done.
The new rock set up. Looks great! Max is the only adventurous one to check it out so far.
Max going exploring.
Friday, Tuna, Jake and I went on a double date with Marin and Drew. Tuna is finding he likes knives. Maybe because we were at the bowling alley he was feeling comfortable.
Tuna was pretending he was homeless to see if people would give him things.
Marin wore this shirt on her birthday a few years ago. It worked.
Drew
Jake
Game 1 scores. MJ-Marin, Larry Bird-Drew, ac green-Jake, globe trotter-Kelsey
Tunas tactics are working. We are going to have to have a talk with him to return everything.
Game two was intense and neck in neck the whole game! With ice cream on the table for the bet, every point was crucial in this game.
The crew. After some fun games of bowing we played some air hockey, ski ball, basketball and pinball to win some cool tickets for prizes. That was a nice touch to the night! Good idea Drew!
After we ended the night at Earth, Fruits and Yogurt to get some ice cream. There we read Laffy Taffy Jokes, talked for hours and had fun. Heather came and met us up after work. It was fun to play with our friends!
Saturday was a great day! For lunch, Jake and I got free tacos at Rubios for BYU winning the basketball game! Thanks Rubios! We love your tacos, and even more when they are free! We also got Burgers to top off the caloric intake!
Today we also did some phone shopping. I think we may be going with Mr. Verizon. We will see. I want an Iphone........and I have had good luck with Verizon. We will seeeeeeeee......
Next, Jake and I made a cake and started getting some cake lollipop treats together! I found this cute idea on littlemissmomma.blogspot.com. I liked them and thought they were yummy, but I think I may like them in another flavor than chocolate instead.
While making treats, a package came in the mail! It was a new friend for Tuna! Jake won this cool Angels Uncle Sam monkey on Ebay. Tuna was liking him. He even took him to church the next day. Tuna loves watching Signfield all day and is obsessed with Jerry. I think that is where he got the idea to name this monkey Jerry.
Welcome to the family Jerry! Do you like Tunas necklace? Marin and Drew bought us all matching friendship bracelets with their tickets from the night before at the bowling alley. Tuna likes to wear his as a necklace.
Tuna told Jake that this is what he would like if he was a monkey. He would look like Jerry. (close eyes, little nose, narrow face..) I agree.
Getting farther on the treats. These are taking forever!
Time for the drizzles.
Cake pops done! 45 ready to eat! Can you tell I am excited for St. Patricks Day with the colors I picked?
Got a plate ready for dinner tomorrow for desert! My old roommates are coming over for dinner! I am so excited to see them all!

Jake and I got to end the night watching Batman Begins and Petes Dragon while I finished up working on some crafts! It was a great week!

Turtle Talk

Saturday, February 26, 2011

This has been quite an exciting week for us! On Monday, Jake and I took a relaxing day, studying for school and doing some shopping. We wanted to go see a movie, but nothing looked to exciting. Maybe in a few weeks. Tuesday all our new furniture arrived in the morning! Wahoo! So exciting! We love it all! We ended up separating our hutch and using part of it in the kitchen, and part of it in the office for a fabric storer for now. Someday in our own place we use it as an official fabouls hutch, but until then, we like how it is! Tuesday night we ate our usual Rubios fish tacos for dinner.

Then we had a little scare. Our turtle Mr. T. had made a pooey literally over the size of the quarter. It had blood and mucus in it. We almost had to go to urgent reptile care. Then he sucked all the gunk back up into him. Well, as we tried to learn more, we think he might be eating part of a turtle dock which caused the mucus and blood. And the other pooey part, he might be a male, or a girl we still don't know but he should be fine. I guess thats a normal turtle thing to do when you reach a certain age, but if the junk does not go back in, you have to take the turtle in to get stitches. Sorry that was way gross, but it scared me big time. That was not a pretty site to see.

I have been wanting to make more crafts for the home. I have been doing alot of blog stalking lately on craft blogs and that has been fun to! Not to mention the entire pan of brownies I ate while doing that. Last night was the first time I had ever skyped with my parents! It was so much fun! We got to take the lap top around and give them the tour of the house! That was fun! Well have to do that more with them! I liked to see their faces!

Jakes Birthday Week

Saturday, February 19, 2011

Wednesday was a great day! I got to spend the morning with Marin! Her and I took a fun trip to Gardner Village to look for some furniture! Last year I went to Gardener Village and found an amazing china hutch. I told my mom I had to have something like this someday. I never knew when I said that, I would be the proud owner of that hutch! I was telling Marin about the hutch and to our surprise it was there and on sale!!!!!!!!!! Best day ever! After Marin and I came back to my place to measure and see if the hutch would fit!
Later that day I was a blog stalker and looked for some fun craft ideas. On a cute blog called "tatertots and jello" I found a cute lamp shade to make. I went to D.I. found a lamp, got a lampshade and spray paint at Walmart and some burlap fabric at Joanns.
While Jake went to school I worked on putting this lamp shade together while watching the show "Clean House." I am loving that show. It makes you want to get rid of all your stuff. Its pretty good.
Completed the lamp shade! Wahoo! It was fun to make! Maybe I will make another one someday! Now I just need to spray paint the base of the lamp. It snowed all night so it looks like tomorrow I will not be able to spray paint. We will see.
Thursday morning, woke up bright and early because I knew it was going to be a big day. I was shaving my legs and nicked my foot and it would not stop bleeding. Somehow I think with excessive loss of blood, being tired, maybe dehydrated, ext. I passed out in the shower. Luckily Jake was home and knew what to do. He got me out of the shower and elevated my feet. He said it took me a few minutes to wake up. Jake even put a cute scooby doo bandaid on my foot to help me get better soon. Well, with so much excitement, Jake made me eat some sugar and take a nap. With the earlier events, I decided to change the nights dinner menu for Hawaiian Haystacks, to an easy soup and salad. We were having the missionaries over for dinner that night!
Just in time, our cute Anthropologie plates, placemats, seat cushions, bath mat, ext. came in the mail! Wahoo! Cute dinner table here we come! Packages are the funnest to get in the mail! Love them!
The weather outside ended up being a beautiful sunny day! I put some Rhodes rolls out to rise, and spray painted the bottom of the lamp!

Wahoo! Setting the dinner table with all fun new stuff was a blast! Jakes parents were awesome and bought us the rest of the plates we needed for his birthday! Thanks mom and dad!
Ready to eat! Rolls and salad on the table!
Tortilla soup with cheese, avacado, onions and sour cream ready to eat! We had a fun time with the missionaries. One was from Finland and one was from the Dominican Republic. They were cute and sweet. Even sweeter, Jake hand washed ALL the dished and cleaned the kitchen while I did an eyelash client after. We found out our dishwasher is a cool old one that you hook up to the sink with a hose for a water source. We found it easier to wash dishes by hand. Someday I look forward to using a dish washer so clean up after dinner does not seem like hours. Worth it though!
Friday was Jakes birthday! When he left for work, it was time to get the house ready for his birthday! I hung up a happy birthday sign I made last week, and blew up some balloons! I was quite happy how it all turned out! Now time to wrap some presents!
Jake loves cupcakes and carrot cake, so carrot cake cupcakes it was! I cut out little cupcake holder to put the cupcakes in! Next time I need to learn how to make them more straight.
The Anderson's got us a cool dessert decorator we registered for our wedding and I was so excited to try it. Decorating nicely is harder than it looks. I think I maybe got one good looking frosted cupcake in the end, but its ok, I am still learning. Using a frosting gun is fun!
Tuna waiting patiently for Jake to get home from work.
Jake was so excited when he got home from work! He wanted to open presents!
Jake loves to read! He has been wanting the Percy Jackson series, so found that online! Jake just wanted a relaxing birthday because he feels everything has been so go, go go. True story..So we ordered some yummy pizza!
Jakes brother Cameron came over and joined us! We watched some Japanese anima movies and played nintendo. While the boys played nintendo, I ate a box of Oreos and finished some pillows I had started on earlier that day. For one of my classes I have to start a home based business and I just realized....I need to get started on that and actually have some products to sale!
Saturday was a great day! Tuna slept inside his pillow pet Unis. We all  slept in till 11,  and then watched some Fringe! That show is to scary for me so I feel back asleep. Then we ate some lunch, got ready for the day and then took a nap again till three. Finally we officially got up for the day and went to head out for some adventures!

Our first stop on the list was Gardner Village. I wanted to show Jake this cool chest I saw that we were thinking of maybe getting for a coffee table. We ended up finding the cutest lime green couch and bought it! It was surprisingly a great price and we didn't have to pay for shipping because our hutch was being shipped to! Wahoo! Life is great! So excited to get those all! We are so excited to have a full size couch!

Then we headed up to Salt Lake. There we went to the Gateway. Then we went to eat dinner at the Red Iguana but the line was so long, we decided to head back home and went to Gurus! Oh there sweet potato fries are so dang good!!! And the dipping sauce as well!

When we got home, I promised Jake I would play some xbox with him. Didnt love the game, but it was fun. I am a mario, donkey kong girl for life. Then we watched the Naked Gun 3 and 1/3. That was fun! Those movies are funny.
We told Tuna earlier that day he could have a pony party. So we rounded up all of his eight ponies for the party. We all watched "My Little Pony" movie. It was great! I learned from the movie that Unicorns are good luck. Then we ended the evening with a pony puppet show.
Sunday morning, got ready for church, ate some chocolate chip pancakes and walked outside to some snow falling and a white wonderland!
Heels and snow don't mix, so we drove to church. Ice ice baby. After church we made some yummy pesto chicken, bacon, cheese quasidillas. Then we did a little house cleaning, nintendo playing, brownie eating, watched flight of the Navigator and skyped with the families. Great day!
