Happy Halloween!

Monday, October 31, 2011

Today has been a great Halloween! Sadly, I have felt sick all day and went through an entire box of kleenex and season 2 of Americas Next Top Model. When Jake got home we headed to his work party! I was wanting to get out of the house and feel some fresh air!
                                                            Jake got some cotton candy!
I got some popcorn! There were lots of fun things to do and play at the party but after 30 mins I was feeling sick again! Sorry Jake! So we got some pizza and headed home and watched a new TV series called "Once upon a time." It looks like it will be a fun show.
My sister Aubrey sent me this super cute photo of Alyssa, my mom and Shane! They look so cute! I love Alyssa's all pink cowgirl outfit and Shane's Ironman! So cool! I wish I were home for Halloween!
My sister Hayley sent me this cute picture of Keith taking Mallory and Reid trick or treating! I wish we were there to join them in matching pumpkin outfits! Well, HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! Cant believe October is already over! This month went way to fast! Hope you had a great day!

Mickeys Halloween Party!!!

Saturday, October 29, 2011

To top off a fantastic week at Disneyland we got to go to Mickeys Halloween Party on Friday night! Oh my goodness, let me tell you this is the best/funnest Halloween Party I have ever been to! It was so much fun and so much to do! They also added sooo many more decorations for the party, it was worth the extra money to get in just for that! I also loved seeing everyones costumes! There were some amazing ones!
We started off the night with some trick or treating! Mickey lets anyone, any age trick or treat! I loved that! There were tons of trick or treating booths set up all around the park, and by each one would follow four or five stations handing out candy! It was all the good stuff kind of candy too! It was great! They even handed out packaged apple slices, carrots or dried fruit packs!
Next we watched "Mickeys Costume Party Parade"! It was great! They had everything and everyone all halloweened themed! We even saw Stitch, one of Jakes favorite characters.
After the parade was a firework show! I would honestly have to say, this is the BEST firework show I have EVER seen! Disney always has great firework displays, but this one was over the top fantastic! Even the castle changed colors and went to the music and had halloween shapes on it!
After the firework show, we had so much fun trick or treating..thats all we wanted to do till midnight! Lets just say..Jake and I really have enough candy to last us for...years! They had out candy like no other!
As we were trick or treating we saw a dance party going on in Frontier Land! It was so much fun! I never knew Jake was so fun to dance with! Here is Pluto and I having a dance off!
Here is Jake dancing around! Maybe I just thought he was so cute because he was a pumpkin?!
It was a pirate dance party! Here is Tuna and some of his favorite Pirates and items he saw!
Then we stood in line to take pictures with Captain Jack Sparrow! They had picture spots all over the park with tons of Disney Characters to see and get photos with!
Leaving the pirates layer! Over the big lake, they made it so foggy! It was awesome! You couldn't even see Tom Sawyers Island on the other side!
Next we ran over to the Winnie the Pooh ride, and we got to meet some Pooh friends there!
Next we went on Splash Mountain! Jakes parents didn't want to get wet, so they were nice and watched our stuff. It was not crowed at all! I think it being 11 o'clock most people went home and we had the whole ride to our selves! In fact, almost the whole park to ourselves!
There were two cute boys in ponchos in front of us on the ride, going on it over and over and their picture was making me laugh so hard we had to take a picture of it! LOVED IT! Great looks of terror.
Jakes parents were tired and went to the hotel, and Jake and I had fun running onto all the last rides we water to go on! Here is Jake so excited to ride Indiana Jones! He was cracking me up running so fast!
When midnight came, I was so sad to leave the park. I felt I still needed so much more time to explore and see all the things they had set up for the party! I guess we better go again next year...! But, I really had a blast this week! I had forgotten literally about everything and had a magical time! When we got home back to our home home, when I walked in the front door and I saw my bike I was shocked; I forgot I even had a bike. It was a magical week!
Back at the hotel we sorted through our candy! I don't think you can tell from this picture how big that bag is, but all the candy filled my kingsize pillowcase! Thanks Disney! We had a great time! We will defiantly be returning for another fantastic "Mickey Halloween Party!"

Saturday morning we headed on a drive home! I don't know why but the drive seemed like the longest drive home ever! It was a good drive, but I think with a time change, not being tired to sleep and being sick with a really runny nose makes for a really long ride home. We did have a good time on our way back though stopping at a random place called the Iron Skillet for lunch. It was a good greasy meal! I always enjoy some good chicken fingers! We also stopped in St. George at the LDS St. George temple and did a session. It was a nice break from the drive.
Here are some pictures I took of the temple before we left!  We got home at 11pm and it felt great to be home! I will miss Disneyland, but can't wait to go again soon!

Ariels Grotto

Friday, October 28, 2011

I can't believe in one night they can change out all the flowers from Mickey with a mask on for halloween and all orange and yellow flowers, to a white and purple Mickey! Its amazing! Friday was another magical day at Disneyland! We got to start the day off with Jakes parents and Jake and I!
Alice and the Mad Hatter came to greet those coming into Disneyland!
Hanging out at Tom Sawyers Island...now known as the Pirates Layer.
 Look at all that treasure!
Watching a new orleans band! They even gave us some mardi gra beads!
Getting corn dogs to start the day off right!
These ones were the best ones I have ever had! They were extra crispy and oh soooo delicious!
Then Jakes parents got us yummy treats to! I got a carmel chocolate pretzel, Jake got a chocolate Mickey rice crispy, and mom got carmel, dark chocolate covered marshmallows! Delicious!
We got to eat our treats and watch a mens quartet. They were fantastic!
Then we went to California Adventure and went straight to the Animation Studios. We went twice and learned how to draw Jack Skellington and Winnie the Pooh.
Then we learned what charters we would be. Jake was Shere Khan and I was Dot. I would love to be Dot. I think she is so cute and fun!
Next we went to Disney Junior Live!  We have never done this before. I thought it was really cute! I liked all the puppets. I want to download some episodes of Jake and the Neverland Pirates. It looked like a show I would like. After the show, Jakes parents took off for the hotel to go mail some things for work.
Jake and I had fun wandering around and going on fun rides! Look at Jakes sad face in this picture. I was cracking up because Jake spilt Reeses Pieces all on the bottom of his bag. He was so sad.
               Tuna and Hymlic.
We found a building at the Golden Wine Vinery that had videos, pictures and models of what California Adventure is going to look like after all the construction! It will be neat! I am glad they are going to have trolleys to take you around!
Here is what the new cars land is going to be like! COOL!
This was my first time riding King Tritons Carrousel. I loved all the cool sea creatures.
Having fun on the Silly Symphony Swings.
Looking around at the shops! These Mickey pumpkins hats were really cute and glow in the dark!
We met up with Jakes parents for lineard (lunch/dinner) at Ariels Grotto! I had been so excited about going here! Ever since we first started coming to California Adventure I always wondered what it was, and wanted to check it out! Now I got my chance when Jakes parents took us!
When you enter you walk down the stairs like you are going "under the sea." Cute. And then Ariel is waiting for you to say hello and get a picture with your group!
They started the meal off with some group appetizers.
 And some bread and dip!
Then the brought out the main course! I got tri tip steak! I loved it! It was great!
This was a fun eat and dine with lots of princesses. Here with Cinderella.
 Belle.
 Snow White.
 Sleeping Beauty!
Jakes parents changed into their costumes to get ready to go to Mickeys Halloween Party in a few hours! I thought this was a cute picture with their dresses out.
For dessert, they brought out a variety of treats! Isn't that all chocolate shell cool? I thought so!
To top off the meal, they gave us buttons! So fun! I really enjoyed this fun meal and entertainment and would love to do it again sometime! Thanks mom and dad! That was awesome!
On our way back to Disneyland we saw a cute blue grass band! They were really entertaining and fun to listen to!
When we got back to Disneyland, they were getting all set up for the Halloween Party! It was making us soooo excited for it to start! Wahoo!
 Riding Casey Junior Train.
This was an awesome day! I loved it, and loved that I finally went to Ariels Grotto! A highlight of the day! Now it was time to get our costumes on and let the MICKEYS HALLOWEEN PARTY BEGIN!
