Friday night, Jake and I got to Festival of Trees with his parents! Festival of Trees is where you go to a huge show room with millions of trees, gingerbread houses, quilts, center pieces and more that are decorated all out! Each item has been donated and is auctioned off and sold! All the proceeds go to Primary Children's Medical Center. Some of the trees have pictures of kids or adults who were sponsored. Either they passed away already, or soon going :( Those pictures made me want to tear up. I was so impressed with amazing people who donated their time, efforts and money to make this event a huge success. I would recommend going if you ever get the chance! Its great to see all the creativity to! I cant believe the ideas people would have for some of the trees! It made me want to have 10+ Christmas trees, each with a different theme in my house!
The first thing we did when we went to the festival is went and got scones! I saw a commercial about the scones and knew right away...we had to go get one! Oh wow..they were soo dang good! It was kinda like fry bread dipped in sugar! Oh wow it was delicious!
Then we went ove to the gingerbread houses! That was fun to go see!Checking out the quilts! I want to make all of these ones! They were so cute!
Jake loved the My Little Pony Tree! Pretty cool! This one on the right was made out of soda bottles. Pretty neat! I loved all the trees with stuffed animals! They were so cute! Lots of the trees came with tons of gifts that matched the theme of the tree!
After the show, we said our goodbyes to Jakes parents. When we were walking back to our car, we saw the movie theater and decided to go see a movie!
We got popcorn and coldstone for our movie treats! And it was so delicious! YUM! We went and saw the new Twilight movie. Can I say.....I have never laughed so hard and also been so horrified. There were some overly violent parts in the film, I would not care to see again....to many rolling heads.... But to say the least, I think the movie producers did put on an intense show.
Looks like fun Kels! I think I need to drag Trevor to see these trees! SO many elaborate ones!
ReplyDeleteI went to the Festival of Trees this weekend - it was awesome! I didn't really know what to expect, and I was blown away. So many creative ideas! Although I think I loved the gingerbread houses best of all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a festive day! I love all of the fancy gingerbread houses!
