The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma is book 2 in this series. I LOVED book one, and book 2 is just as good! Trenton Lee Stewart is a fantastic writer, and really writes his books well. They are easy to follow, captivating, mysterious and of course, fun and entertaining!
This second book, The Prisoner's Dilemma took a little longer for me to get into. Once it got to page 100 or so, so much action was flying off these pages, I couldn't stop readings and had to keep reading till I finish it! In this books, there is traps, finding out about pasts, the kids learning about secret talents they have, and some serious danger!
I feel you could read this book without having to read the first book, but the first book was so good and had great character development that you would miss out in the second book.
This book takes place in the town where all the Mysterious Benedict Society matters first started; Stonetown. There the kids are stuck in Mr. Benedicts house with their families, as they try and find a way to protect the "Whisper" from getting in the wrong hands. Though the kids complain, they love being together and finally having another adventure together. The kids and families are all in danger of a mad man, who happens to be someone in the groups twin brother!
This book is just great. READ IT!
I am excited for the last book in the series....The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey!
